The US Supreme Court will be deciding soon (tomorrow the 17th, I believe) to accept or reject a case involving a Colorado baker objecting to being forced to create cakes for same-sex weddings. I believe this will be the first such case to be heard at the SCOTUS level.
Of course this will have enormous ramifications. I am praying for victory for the conscientious objector if the Court grants the petition for consideration.

I never know if I'm posting in the correct place....that's my disclaimer and I'm sticking to it.
Say one believes in One God, One Creator and also Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God and even uses and reads the Bible but sees the Bible as a useful tool as well as other ancient writings without giving it a place of uncontested infallibility.
Understanding that man has a sin nature and throughout history has exhibited the ability to manipulate, maim, murder and steal in order to procure what...
I am a 27 year old virgin. My curiosity has led me to unhealty habits as masturbation. I now flirt with a lot of girls.. (not that many, currently like 3). One of these girls now desperately wants to have sex with me..I kinda want too as well but it is not right and against my moral standards..this has been my struggle for over some months now..I act back and forth sometimes ignoring this girl who's desperate and even initiates flirty text messages ..I am really struggling to get raid of...
I don't come from a Catholic background, and would appreciate hearing some of the scriptures and church doctrine that outlines the immaculate conception. It's a topic of which I am fairly ignorant, and even the purpose of the doctrine (as I understand it) is probably off-base.
Thank you, and God bless
Here's the thing. We are poor, we live in a third world country. I used to have a good career going but I messed it up -- and it's nearly impossible to recover from that mistake. I still have a job but it's not as lucrative as before and opportunities are now bleak. Bottomline, we are poor. Parents have no pension, no medical insurance. Any major medical problem and that's it.
However, there is a little bit of hope for us in getting out of poverty. We have relatives in a 1st world...
In 2016, the first diocesan woman bishop of the Church of England said that God is neither male or female and that she avoids gendered pronouns for God. "According to [Bishop Rachel] Treweek, God should not be given a gender. During her October 26 inauguration into the House of Lords, she said, 'God is not to be seen as male. God is God.'" Interestingly enough, on January 15 2017, Bishop Treweek presided at a Eucharist with Inclusive...
I have been subject to church discipline because my church wants to discipline my husband and they are unable to. I posted in the Christian phylisophy forum because I am curious 1) about if there is any precidence for disciplining a wife due to the actions of a husband and 2) if the reason the church is administering discipline is even valid. I describe the situation here
I am posting here for advice as to what I can do about this. Ultimately I want reconciliation with my...
What It Means to Be Catholic: The Past, the Present, and the Future
What does “Catholic” really mean?
In order to answer that question, to the benefit of Catholic and non-Catholic alike, I’d like to examine the core distinguishing elements of catholicity. I hope to reveal the inner logic of the word, which is the unity of the people of God in all eras, in every place, in dogma and worship, and in life and death.
Apart from Acts of the Apostles, chapter 9, which uses a similar phrase, “Catholic” is first used to describe the Church by St. Ignatius of Antioch, a disciple of the apostles Peter, Paul, and John, who died a martyr in Rome around A.D. 107.
Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be...
Any one here have any experience with church discipline? And has any one ever heard of subjecting a wife to church discipline due to the actions of her husband?
My husband had pretty much severed ties with or church last December. We both grew up and were married in that church. Although my husband refuses to go and there is much bad blood between him and pretty much every one else there I have continued to attend with my family.
Recently my husband and I threw a medieval times themed...
