Cat slept on my Bible
What would be an appropriate punishment for my cat for falling asleep on my Bible? Should I feed her only once tomorrow instead of twice, or not let her sleep in my bed with me tonight, or... what? I love my cat Johnny, but I consider sleeping on the Bible to be blasphemous. -
Questions on sanctification from a new believer
1. From what I understand, sanctification is a life-long journey, but do different people progress at different rates?
2. Whose "effort?" Ours, God's, or God's + ours?
3. How/when/where does the Holy Spirit come into play?
4. Is there a difference between a bad habit and a sin?
Thanks in advance! -

Chick-fil-A Stops Giving to Salvation Army, FCA Amid LGBT Protests
“There’s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, we need to be clear about who we are,” Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos told the site Bisnow on Monday. “There are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and we thought we needed to be clear about our message.” -
I want to believe but...
Greetings.
Let me start by saying I have no interest in debating anyone on anything. If our ideas don't match, just know that I'm totally open to mine changing -- in fact that's why I'm posting this.
That said, here's the deal... I believe in Christ. I believe He was the son of God, died for my sins, and rose again.
It hasn't always been that way though. I had to do a ton of research on my own to really believe that stuff. Since I've been convinced I've been really comfortable with it, and have never looked back.
However, there's still plenty I don't believe in...
Adam and Eve... no, I don't believe that two people populated the entire earth. This is NOT to say I believe in evolution as I don't, there are plenty of holes in that... -
Sexual Purity
Bold = scripture, regular = my thoughts
Write down some practical ways we might help young people choose God’s way in the area of sex. (Question taken from a bible study I'm doing)
Be around people that will keep you accountable. This is why church is important. To be constantly around others that:
1. Sharpen you
Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17
2. Correct you in love
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.
- Galatians 6:1
3. Remind you of the purpose of sex & the context in which it is beneficial
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Might some non-Christians go to Limbo?
This thread is especially directed at the many of you here in CF who insist that only Christians can go to Heaven. Now, one of the most famous Church Fathers, Augustine, taught that the unbaptized babies go to Limbo, aka the Outer Edge of Hell. He felt that Limbo is not a bad place, but rather a place of natural happiness, but still not on par with Heaven. If those of you who maintain that only Christians can go to Heaven are correct, might it still not be possible for some Jews, Muslims and even others to go to Limbo and experience natural happiness, rather than eternal punishment in Hell? I am referring here to non-Christians who practice loving one's neighbor and perhaps also abide by the Noahide laws. FYI, Judaism teaches that... -

Ex-Catholic looking for help becoming protestant
Hi, I left the Catholic church about a year ago. I left because of bad experiences, mean and ignorant priests, no solutions to my questions or problems, and a never ending feeling of evil around me. I have a lot of backstory as to why I left but I'm not going to explain everything here right now. Maybe some other time. Anyway, after I stopped going to mass I was looking into the ideas and ways of evangelists and lutherans. I've been sticking to my bibles and i've been trying to find the best version to read. I own a king james, an english standard, and a Good News bible (catholic). I'm currently trying to get my hands on a copy of the Halleluyah Scriptures (sorry if i spelled that wrong) and I'm curious to know what you guys recommend I...
