So if someone wants to follow Jesus the person needs to Repent and be Baptized.
I'm sure everyone here will agree with this statement.
Ok so tell me, what is the person repenting from?
How does he know he did something wrong?
How does he know what IS WRONG?
Do pastors just accept someone just saying, "i repented" ?
Doesn't the person need to know what they are repenting from?
So that they don't start doing things that are WRONG all over again?
Do people really think that telling...
Protestants know the personal presence of Jesus, because they recognize Him as their personal Lord and Savior (a liturgical formula, by the way). But there is only one place where He is always completely present, and every Christian in the world knew it until the Protestant Reformation: in the Eucharist.
Christians worship Christ because He is God. Catholics worship the Eucharist because the Eucharist is Christ. Under the appearances of bread and wine, He is literally just as fully and...
The term "Sola Scriptural" is meant by relying wholly upon and only in Scripture as the basis for Church doctrines and practices. If one doesn't base one's beliefs on Scripture, what does one base it upon? The Talmud?
Make no mistake, practices like kneeling down while praying are fine as long as it's done in humility before God. God doesn't care about your physical position while you pray, it's about your state of mind. Are you driven to prostrate yourself before God, or are you...
It's easy to say "God is just" and "God is love" and "Hell is necessary to implement Divine Justice" when the one that is going there is, the other guy. But I wanted to see honest replies here, so please state in your comment, if you believe in a literal fiery hell where people suffer for eternity, no chance of parole.
I was raised in a denomination called the "Church of Christ", I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but it's extremely legalistic, we might say. No dancing. Musical...
I don't really care how much Trump is bible bashing, as Christians it is not right for us to support the Sexual abuse of Women. I know many people don't like Hillery, as well. But for me the issue is not so much, a choice between Trump and Hillery, but the need for the church to have guts and ask for the resignation of Trump, so there is the potential for a more godly candidate.
I know I made some statements earlier supporting trump, and even thinking God wanted him to be president. However...
In another thread the question came up as to whether Paul quotes the OT honestly. I think he does not. Almost every time he quotes the Old Testament, if you look at the actual verses in context, you will find they are not saying what Paul claims they are saying. For instances, look at Romans 3:10-19:
as it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one;
no one understands, no one seeks for God.
All have turned aside, together they have gone wrong; no one does good, not even one."
Hi all. Here's another video, this one about the Mark of the Beast. It's a bit longer than the other videos (a run time of 18 minutes) and it comes in 3 parts (the other 2 parts will be released later).
The video attempts to detail how the Mark of the Beast will almost certainly manifest itself as a microchip implant in the hand for buying/selling and how various strategies for taking it are being developed and disseminated to the general public.
I look forward to some lively discussion.
There is a question that has been bugging my mind and deals with the allowing of Animal Slaughtering for sacrifices. I've heard the philosophies/explanation of it -- The reason being the wages of sin was death... but i still have difficulty in finding reason for it.
An example is during the story of Abraham Gen 22 v13, in where after he passed the test involving Isaac and in replacement he killed a Ram that had it's horns stuck.
And then in the NT where Jesus allows the demons to enter...
Acts 19:13- "Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
Acts 19:14 "Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so."
Acts 19:15 "And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
Acts 19:16 "Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and...
The Christianity I come from holds the Bible to be inerrant. To my surprise, I've found that to be a minority view on these forums.
The Bible is no doubt a symbol of Christianity and (at least sometimes) the guide to living for Christians. Therefore I would expect there to be a consensus on the most basic fact about it. Since there isn't one, I'd just like to know, with or without justification, which of the following describes you:
1. I believe the Bible is inerrant.
2. I believe the...
