Finding Peace

We all have a potential for finding inner peace; we need only to let go of the idea that there is something that we need to do first in order to find peace within.


The way to be peaceful is to be peaceful.


We can never find peace through war or strife; it just doesn't happen that way. The only way it works is to start out where we want to wind up, to begin by understanding and knowing that we've already arrived, and to realize all as wholely Divine.


When we realize that God is everwhere and in everything, it becomes easy to see and love God in all that we do. Every word becomes a prayer, every action a spiritual ceremony, and every morning a holy day.​

Remember:​

Contentment comes from a proper relationship with God;
not from a response to the circumstances.​

Our what ifs will either drive us to God and faith
or they will drive us to worry and dependence on self.​

God gives peace and contentment; worry gives illness and misery.​

There is one thing I know. I will
not give something I value to someone I do not trust.​

Before I will give my objects of anxiety to God, I must believe (really believe) that He understands the problem and will handle it in His timing.
This is "trust."
I must believe that He has all things under His control -- that He is the Blessed Controller of all things. If all things are not under His control and there are a few loose ends, and I am one of those loose ends, then my anxiety is not helped.​

God is in the midst of you as life.
God's life is the only life, and
this is the life that fills your body;
this is the life that flows in and through every part of you.

There is no condition that is beyond God's
power to heal and renew. Hold to this idea of life,
expand your faith in it, think of it as filling you
through and through.
Rejoices and give thanks that God
is in the midst of you as life, healing, strengthening, renewing.

Wherever you are, you are in the presence of God.
He is with you. mighty, unfailing in the midst of you.
Just to know this, just to say to yourself,
"god is with me,"
gives you renewed strength and courage,
inspires in you, the will to go on,
the perseverance to conquer loneliness and fear.

God is in the midst of you as a guiding presence.
God is in the midst to you as light.

"And the crooked shall become straight, and the rough ways smooth."

You do not need to see the whole way before you;
you need only to trust the Spirit of God in the midst
of you to direct you step by step into the way
of your highest good.
The darkness lifts as you look to God
in the midst of you. Your doubts and questionings
disappear as you open your mind and heart to light.

You may have thought that you had to depend on the wisdom of others, that you had to wait for someone else to show you the way before you could proceed, but you have your inner light, the light of God in the midst of you. Follow this inward light and you cannot fail to find your way. Walking in the light of God's presence, you find your way out of every difficulty, you emerge stronger and wiser from every experience.

God in the midst of you as love, divine love, and this love need to be expressed, to be given forth.

Let your prayer be:
"Father, teach me to love as you love.
Let me show forth Thy love in kindness,
in generosity, in consideration, in forgiveness,
in understanding. Let me learn to see other persons
as Thy children. Let me learn to love all people
as Thou lovest them.

Remember:

God is in the midst of you.
God is at the heart of your being.
God is the secret core of your life.
God is in the thoughts you thank.
God is the motivating power behind your acts.
To know that God is with you,
to know that He is in the midst of you,
to know that in Him you live and move
and have your being, is to live in faith,
to draw every breath as an act of faith,
to speak every word as a affirmation of faith.

God is in the midst of you.
Know this, carry this knowledge with you,
remind yourself of it many times throughout every day.
God is in the midst of you,
your all in all,
the perfect fulfillment of every need.

God's Perfection
One Bread, One Body

True prayer is earnest, not tiring nor fainting. It takes every burden to God--the small and the large alike. It is submissive, referring all to the Father's will. Its answer may not come in the direct granting of the request we make, but may come instead in more grace and strength, enabling us to keep the burden and yet rejoice. Lying at our Father's feet in the time of our strong cryings and tears, we learn obedience and our sobbings end in praises, our struggles in acquiescence, our tears are dried, and we rise victorious--not getting our own way, but glad and happy and peaceful in God's way.​

Obedience makes heaven. All the life of heaven is simply perfect obedience. A little of heaven comes into our life on earth when we learn to obey the will of God. Obedience is the mark of royalty. Wherever God finds a soul that is ready to yield always to his will, to do his commandments without question, to submit to his providences without murmuring, there is a life that he is ready to crown. We get to be like Christ just as we learn to obey and do God's will. Heaven comes down into our heart just as we yield our lives to God.

God many times answers our prayers not by bringing down his will to ours, but by lifting us up to himself. We grow strong, so as to need no longer to cry for relief. We can bear the heavy load without asking to have it lightened. We can keep the sorrow now and endure it. We can go on in quiet peace without the new blessing which we thought so necessary. We have not been saved from the battle we shrank so from entering, but we have fought it through and have gained the victory. Is not victoriousness in conflict better than being freed from the conflict? Is not peace in the midst of the storm and the strife better than to be lifted altogether over the strife?
