I don't generally name anyone. It's not like an email, requiring a specific address for delivery. If I know who I'm talking to, then so does He.

Jesus talked about praying to the Father, but we have instances of both Paul and Stephen praying the Jesus directly.

Hey interesting topic.

I on reflection i think i pray to both..
But we are taught to pray "thy will be done"
I think perhaps some tag on the words..in jesus name amen.
But that does not mean they have prayed "in his name".
To pray IN his name is to pray according to the will of the authority we pray in.
Like a police officer.. He says i arrest you in the name of the law.. The law states he must arrest that man for that crime.. Personally he may not want to arrest that man.but if he is acting in the name of the law then he must do what the law wills him to do not his own will.
Just so,praying in the name of Jesus is asking the father for His will to be done according as it has been made known to us through the son.
If we pray our own will.. Or in disobedience.. It means nothing that we tag on the words "in jesus name" to the end of a sentance.
