Coming to Christianity is answering to conviction of conscience, with there being evidence for it, this is not preceding any fair judgment against us for that.
There are other faiths, but as I explained, no other deals with reality with the best explanation as Christianity, one looking comes to Christianity with seeing it uniquely has agreement with these things and the most realistic explanation that sin in our lives from human fallenness from the original rebellion is why we have no relation with communication with our maker to start with, and the resolutions that are naturally most desirable for us. His plan for our restoration in Christ is shown with evidence as no other way of solution is. Prophecies being fulfilled can be shown from the Bible, where else? There is no other with that. It is is not in the Koran. Going with Christianity is the logical direction, resistence to it is from self-seeking motives.
The second point is short of true costs of many, time spent in church is a small thing to any and many still do not pray enough for the relationship that there should be. But persecution has been suffered and lives given, and the point has been made.
1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
The context of that though is the abundant evidence for faith in Christ with him clearly risen from the dead. The attitude that progress is interrupted (I tried using your word and had multiple phrases put in its place so I have had to be editing) from Christianity is from perspective on false hope in what is progress, and not seeing Christianity is not the system, but relationship with Yahweh God, with Christ as Lord.
Care to provide any of your evidence?
There is conviction of conscience, thanks to the work of the Spirit of Yahweh God, among those who are responsive to him, the evidence is knowledge that there is truly right and wrong, it is not up to us, or there would not be truly right and wrong, and that we fail miserably. There is knowledge that this universe, with all the design, and us in it who can judge things thinking we know what is true from that, had a beginning and belief in the start as a big bang includes that without any adequate explanation for it when using it for an explanation without God. Coming to beings able to judge rightly what is true out of creation without any intelligence behind it makes no sense.
The Bible gives basis for Christianity, and it has plenty of evidence, with prophecies and fulfillments, historical reliability, manuscripts, internal consistency, and speaking authoritatively on the human circumstance without true contradiction, which would outweigh the topic of this thread. But honest inquiry shows some of it, and any such evidence for scriptures of an alternative faith could show its prophetic or other evidence that the Bible does, if only it could be done, but it is not there.
The greatest thing standing is Jesus, what he said and did, and the empty tomb left where he was laid, and his followers being ultimate witnesses of his resurrection when no one could come up with the body of Jesus to show otherwise.
1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God
which was with me.
Their lives were miraculously changed. And they gave their lives to the testimony as witnesses.
