Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

Whoever purifies himself
Will be an instrument set apart
Useful to the Master
Useful for honorable and noble purposes,
Consecrated and profitable to the Master,
Fit and ready for any good work.

Be washed thru the word
That you may be without stain or wrinkle
Holy and blameless, radiant
A useful instrument in the Master's hands.

A hammer is useless until placed in the carpenter's hand.

Words and music: Kevin Percival © 1995 Kevin Percival

I am nothing more than a useless hammer
Until placed in the carpenter's hand
I am nothing more than a wand'ring pilgrim
All alone in a far-away land
Im am nothing more than a very small child
Not yet grown up into a man
I am nothing more than a useless hammer
Until placed in the carpenter's hand

Use me Lord
This will always be my humble plea
Give me faith
Built upon the cross of Calvary

Use me Lord
I will be your servant to the end
Give me strength
Like a tempered steel, I will not bend

A hammer lays quiet and lifeless and still
It can't on its own do a thing
But placed in the hands of the one with the skill
Its pounding will make Heavens ring

Thank You Lord that You know who belongs to You. Help me to rightly handle Your word, to be cleansed. Purify me, wash me thru Your word, that I may be a useful instrument in Your hand, prepared to do and accomplish Your purposes.

Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Psalm 138:8
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.
