Saint Mardarije seems to have at spent time in America, given that he's "of Libertyville".

cool, did not even see that. good snag. interesting that the first three continental US saints were all Serbian (St Varnava of Hvosno was glorified in 2006)

It seems St Mardarije was born in Serbia, but he was the first Serbian bishop in America and he founded the Libertyville monastery.

My priest told me that they would be canonizing them at the meeting of the Synod this year. I'm so glad, because I love St. Sebastian. I don't know why, but reading his story (Abbot Damascene of Platina did a biography of him a few years ago) just resonated with me.

So when do they get their troparia and how soon can I get an Icon…?
