Since the Bible says the mark of the beast without it you won't be able to buy or sell then it is the implant under the skin.

Note that nothing requires that.

Also, a scarification mark (See post 179) wouldn't replace microchip implants, which could be used to electronically perform buy/sell transactions (like debit cards do today). Instead, a scarification mark would be in addition to them, just as today, the club-member cards of members-only stores don't replace debit cards, but are in addition to them. Just as without a club-member card, people today aren't permitted to buy anything at a members-only store, even if they have a debit card, so without the Antichrist's mark, people during his future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign (Revelation 13:4-18) won't be permitted to buy anything (Revelation 13:17), even if they have a debit-microchip implant.

13.18 Many have attempted to find out what the number 666 is, but they fail to see the unity of this verse.

The "666" in Revelation 13:17c-18 refers to the number six hundred and sixty-six, the "number of the name" of the individual "man" who is the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of the beast). The number of a name (Revelation 13:17c-18, Revelation 15:2) is determined by employing the ancient method of gematria, by which numerical values are assigned to the letters of any alphabet as follows: the first nine letters are 1 through 9, the next nine letters are 10 through 90 (counting by tens), and the rest of the letters are 100, 200, 300, etc., to the end of the alphabet. In Revelation 13:18, the "counting", the adding up, of the gematrial number of the Antichrist's name should be done in the same way that the gematrial numerical values of the 3 Greek letters (Chi, Xi, and Stigma) at the end of Revelation 13:18 (in the original Greek Textus Receptus)[/b] are added up to arrive at the number six hundred and sixty-six.

The numerical values of the letters of the ancient Greek alphabet (including the 3 obsolete letters of Stigma, Qoppa, and Sampi) were as follows: Alpha = 1, Beta = 2, Gamma = 3, Delta = 4, Epsilon = 5, Stigma = 6, Zeta = 7, Eta = 8, Theta = 9, Iota = 10, Kappa = 20, Lambda = 30, Mu = 40, Nu = 50, Xi = 60, Omikron = 70, Pi = 80, Qoppa = 90, Rho = 100, Sigma = 200, Tau = 300, Upsilon = 400, Phi = 500, Chi = 600, Psi = 700, Omega = 800, Sampi = 900.

Just as the numerical values of Chi, Xi, and Stigma at the end of Revelation 13:18 (in the Textus Receptus) add up to 666, so the numerical values of the letters in the Antichrist's name will add up to 666 (Revelation 13:17c-18). John used the Greek alphabet because it was the most common one used by believers when the book of Revelation was written. Today, the English alphabet is the most common one used by believers, insofar as English is the current lingua franca of the world. So the Antichrist's name will most likely add up to 666 in the English alphabet. The purpose of Revelation 13:17c-18 is to facilitate for believers, not to make difficult for them, the identification of a certain man as possibly being the Antichrist. If the letters in his name had to be transliterated into the Greek alphabet, this would vitiate this purpose, for almost all believers today wouldn't know how to properly perform this transliteration, and so different believers would come up with different transliterations, and so would come up with different gematrial numbers for the name of the man in question.

If believers think that someone is the Antichrist, they need to check and make sure that his name adds up to 666 in gematria (Revelation 13:17c-18). If it doesn't, then he isn't the Antichrist. If it does, then he could be, and they need to be especially wary of him and not be taken in by any deceptive charisma, intelligence, or amazing deeds that he might display. But even if someone's name adds up to 666, this doesn't mean that he's definitely the Antichrist. For just by chance there could be more than one person in the world whose name adds up to 666. The Antichrist also has to come from a country the territory of which used to be part of one of the 4 Diadochian Greek kingdoms which succeeded Alexander the Great (Daniel 8:8-9,21-25). These kingdoms stretched from Greece over to Iran, and down into Egypt. So the Antichrist could come from the Middle East. He could be an Arab who will come from Lebanon, from the modern city of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:4), and have a name like (for example) "Nabil Abdullah Falakal al-Hakim", which adds up to 666.

But if a man from the Middle East has a name which adds up to 666, even this doesn't assure that he's the Antichrist. For he also has to sit (at least one time) in a 3rd Jewish temple in Jerusalem and proclaim himself God (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Daniel 11:31,36, Matthew 24:15, Revelation 11:1-2). Once he does that, there won't be any room for doubt over whether or not he's the Antichrist; his identity will have been definitely revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:3b-4).

The gematrial numerical values of the letters of the English alphabet are: A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7, H=8, I=9, J=10, K=20, L=30, M=40, N=50, O=60, P=70, Q=80, R=90, S=100, T=200, U=300, V=400, W=500, X=600, Y=700, Z=800. The way that the gematrial number of a name is "counted" (Revelation 13:17c-18), is added up, is simply by adding up the gematrial numerical values of all the letters in that name. So, for example, the number of the name "John Mark Smith" is 636, because: J=10, O=60, H=8, N=50, M=40, A=1, R=90, K=20, S=100, M=40, I=9, T=200, H=8. Total = 636. The Antichrist's name will add up to 666 (Revelation 13:17c-18).

crosssaves said in post 192:

The name Nero Caesar in Hebrew makes up 666

Regarding that claim, is there an ancient historical source which shows how "Nero Caesar" was usually transliterated into Hebrew at the time that Revelation was written, so we can confirm whether or not the usual Hebrew transliteration of "Nero Caesar" added up to 666 in Hebrew gematria, instead of an intentionally-altered Hebrew spelling? For example, why was an "n" added after "Nero", to make "Neron"; and why was the "ae" of "Caesar" skipped to make "Csar", when, for example, the "ae" in "Israel" gets at least an "aleph" in Hebrew? Could "Neron Csar" in fact be an intentionally-altered, never-actually-used spelling that adds up to 666, just as people today could intentionally mistransliterate into Hebrew the name of someone living today so that the mistransliterated name adds up to 666 in Hebrew gematria? Also, just by chance there could be more than one person in the world whose name adds up to 666. So even if it could be proven that the usual Hebrew spelling of "Nero Caesar" added up to 666, or that the usual spelling of the name of someone living today adds up to 666, this doesn't require that that person is the Antichrist.

Also, should we even assume that the Antichrist's name has to be transliterated into Hebrew for it to add up to 666? For Revelation was originally addressed to Greek-speaking Gentile churches in the Roman province of "Asia" (Revelation 1:11) (what's now western Turkey), not to Hebrew-speaking Jewish churches in Judaea. And John the apostle used 3 letters from the Greek alphabet to express the number 666 in Revelation 13:18 (in the original Greek Textus Receptus), not any letters from the Hebrew alphabet. (But this doesn't require that the Antichrist's name has to be transliterated into Greek in order for it to add up to 666, for John used the Greek alphabet only because it was the most common one used by the believers he was addressing at the time Revelation was written.) Also, even when "Nero Caesar" (instead of "Neron Csar") is transliterated into Hebrew, it doesn't have to result in the name adding up to 666:

N - Nun = 50 (cf. the "Ne" in "Nebo" in the Hebrew of Num. 32:3: Nun for the "N" and nothing for the "e")
E /
R - Reysh = 200
O - Vav = 6 (cf. the "o" in "Nebo" in the Hebrew of Num. 32:3 being the letter Vav)

C - Qowph = 100 (cf. "Kareah" in the Hebrew of Jer. 40:8, & "Caesar" being "Kaisar" in the Greek of Mt. 22:17)
A - Aleph = 1 (cf. the "ae" in "Israel" in the Hebrew of Gen. 32:28: Aleph for the "a" and nothing for the "e")
E /
S - Samek = 60 (cf. the "sar" in "Ellasar" in the Hebrew of Gen. 14:1: Samek for the "s" & nothing for the "a")
A /
R - Reysh = 200

Total = 617

Rev.13:17, 18: To buy and sell is not to be understood literally anymore than the rest of this symbolism. We make the mark ourselves, ie, deceit produces the image and certainly makes it look wonderfully attractive. We, ourselves, erect it. 'We put in our own minds and hearts, where it breathes and speaks and persuades them to let no one live who does not likewise accept and honor this image.

The "image" (Rev.13:14b) conveys several thoughts. By means of this everybody carries the beast in his heart, ie, meet the Truth and reject as fallacious to insane, receives the mark (IIThess.2:10b). Eg, if in all the former confusion and insanity there is Truth, and rejected, ie, forever gong. Sorry, poor example?

btw making and bowing down before an image is almost the worst idolatry, ie, even if doing unknowingly.

Oh well, do not want to over entertain you folks,

The image will be erected. Make means make to make an image just as statutes of leaders have been erected before.

That's right.

The "image of the beast" (Revelation 13:15) could be an android image of the Antichrist (the individual-man aspect of the beast) which the Antichrist's False Prophet (Revelation 13:11-16, Revelation 19:20) could cause to be made after the Antichrist receives a terrible head wound (Revelation 13:3,14b). For this injury could leave the Antichrist's facial and bodily appearance permanently marred, and could render him unable to speak clearly, like someone after a bad stroke, so that the Antichrist won't want to appear or speak in public again.

Did you ever see that movie "Dave"? It had a President who was in a coma, so his handlers found a regular guy who looked exactly like the President, and had him be a public stand-in for the President. He was able to speak just like the President did. It could be like that with the Antichrist's image. It could be the Antichrist's "Dave", his double, that appears and speaks (Revelation 13:15) before the world instead of his wounded self. But instead of letting people think that the Antichrist's android image is the Antichrist himself, the False Prophet could tell people from the beginning that the image isn't the Antichrist himself, but still fully represents him.

In Revelation 13:15, the original Greek word translated as "life" or "breath" (pneuma, G4151) can mean "spirit" in the sense of consciousness (1 Corinthians 2:11a, Luke 1:47), so that the android could appear to have a spirit, to have consciousness. The way this could be achieved would be through the android having wireless connections to huge banks of supercomputers running advanced artificial intelligence software. The False Prophet could claim that the Antichrist's consciousness dwells within the android by means of neural networks imprinted with the Antichrist's brain patterns. But this could be a lie, in that the android won't actually have the Antichrist's consciousness, or any true consciousness, but will only appear to have consciousness, by its being able to pass even the most stringent Turing Test. This is a test whereby one speaks with a computer and can't tell whether it has consciousness or not, because all of its answers are the same as if it had consciousness.

But the android's "consciousness" could appear far more advanced than any human's, for it could have access to huge databases containing every fact known to man, so that the android will appear to be omniscient. In this way, it could convince the world that it's not just a machine, but a material incarnation, a machine avatar, of the true God, a literal "deus ex machina", a literal "God from a machine". And this machine "God" could boast not only of his mental powers, but also of his physical powers: he could be extremely strong. And he could boast of the "immortality" of his machine body, which could be made of titanium, covered with some practically-everlasting flesh-like silicone. People could just be completely awestruck by his (what they could call) "omniscient wisdom, his strength, his indestructibility". They could consider him more than worthy of worship by (in their words) "mere humanity, which is so mentally and physically limited, made out of mere flesh and blood, which is so weak and so mortal". The world will actually worship the Antichrist's image (Revelation 13:15), just as it will actually worship Lucifer (the dragon, Satan) and the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4,8, Revelation 12:9).

The Antichrist's image could be placed standing in the holy place (the inner sanctum) of a 3rd Jewish temple in Jerusalem, so that the image will become the abomination of desolation (Matthew 24:15, Daniel 11:31). And in order to make it easy for everyone in the world to be able to see the image and worship it (Revelation 13:15), it could appear on every cell phone, television, computer, GPS navigation system, and electronic billboard at set times each day. And to make it possible for everyone to interact with it personally, it could appear as a computer generated image on each individual's cell phone, speaking in and understanding each individual's language, conversing with each individual with personalized messages and responses devised by supercomputers running artificial intelligence and language software.

And it could discuss with them even the most intimate details of their lives, for it could have access to huge databases compiled by the Antichrist's worldwide intelligence, law enforcement, economic, and health agencies, databases containing all the facts about everyone: who their family and friends are, where they live and work, who their neighbors and coworkers are, how much they make, what cars and properties they own and use, where they go, where they shop, what they buy, where they eat out, what shows and videos they watch, what they read, what they say, what they write on the internet, what their health problems are, etc., so that the Antichrist's image could seem to know everything about everyone.

And the worship of the image could be connected with a daily surveillance and subjugation of everyone. For the image's supercomputers could make his image automatically appear on everyone's cell phone at set times every day to be worshipped. And cell phones contain GPS chips which can be secretly pinged in order to determine the exact location of the cell phones. So when the image appears on everyone's cell phone, the image's supercomputers could ping the GPS chip of everyone's cell phone and know exactly where everyone is.

Also, cell phones contain cameras and microphones, which can be remotely opened secretly in order to see and hear what's going on around the cell phones. So when the image appears on everyone's cell phone, the image's supercomputers could open the cameras and microphones of everyone's cell phone to determine what everyone is doing and saying, and the image could then demand that the individuals worship him as God, saying some set prayer of praise and adoration. And if any individual refuses, the image's supercomputers could detect that individual's noncompliance, and notify the nearest police officers of that individual's exact location, and order the officers to arrest that individual for blasphemy and treason. The offending individual could then be given a chance to be "reformed" (i.e. in a brainwashing camp, or through physical torture, if necessary), but if he proves recalcitrant, he will be executed (Revelation 13:15) by being beheaded (Revelation 20:4).

The beheading process itself could be made into a televised and webcasted spectacle, to serve not only as a dire warning to anyone thinking of refusing to worship the image, but also to serve as an amazingly-horrific entertainment for the masses, like how the ancient Romans made it an entertainment for the masses to gather them into the Colosseum in Rome and let them watch Christians being thrown to lions and devoured alive.

Colossal beheading structures could be built, by which twenty "traitors" could be beheaded at one time by one fall of one blade. The "traitors" could be bound in a row along an upright "U"-shaped device with a track for a huge guillotine blade, which could start out in a resting position at the top of one side. The blade could be so massive and so sharp, that when it's released, it will easily slice down through 10 necks on one side of the "U" and continue on by its own momentum up the other side of the "U", shearing off another 10 heads. This all could happen so quickly that it will appear as if all 20 heads are struck off almost in unison, followed immediately by 20 geysers of blood rushing out in unison for all the Antichrist's "faithful" to gawk at and cheer over in the comfort of their own homes before their televisions, computers, and web-enabled devices.

Also, immediately after the show is over, at the site where it took place, teams of surgeons could rush in to "harvest" all the fresh organs and other body parts from the beheaded bodies to be used for transplants (beheading being the best way for a body to die if you want to harvest its parts). What's left of the bodies could then be stuffed into shipping containers, which, once full, could be stacked like stones into a gigantic Pyramid of Death, which could eventually reach some 30 stories high and contain millions of bodies. A huge plaque could be erected in front of the pyramid that will read: "This is a monument to the shame of YHWH, who created everything to die". (Of course, the truth is that he didn't, for Adam and Eve were created immortal; it wasn't until they sinned that they became mortal: Genesis 2:17. And YHWH will restore immortality to saved humans through Jesus Christ: Romans 6:23.) Also, any such plaque would be hypocritical, for it will be the Antichrist who will have murdered the people entombed in the pyramid, not YHWH. And so it will actually be a monument to how those who hate YHWH and his wisdom, love death (Proverbs 8:36b).

Regarding the worship of the Antichrist's image, to help foster a group dynamic, every neighborhood and village in the world could be helped to create a group worship center in which everyone in that neighborhood or village will have to gather together at a set time each evening to bow down and prostrate himself or herself before a life-size, lifelike image of the Antichrist, which could be a computer-generated, animated, holographic or widescreen 3D HDTV image of him clothed in beautiful golden robes and standing majestically before them (or sitting on a magnificent golden throne), and speaking computer-generated customized messages to them as a group.

This worship could be accompanied by the most beautiful symphonic music (cf. Daniel 3:5), or whatever is the most beautiful music to the local people, to help them (in the words of the Antichrist's propaganda machine) "be uplifted into the true spirit of praise and worship of our gracious Lord and Master. Praised be His Majestic Name forever and ever!", etc. And what with the wonderful music, and all their fellow worshippers around them, and customized messages of encouragement spoken in a deep, soothing voice by a life-size, holographic or 3D HDTV image of the Antichrist, to certain members of each "worship group", it could be that some people in each group will start to really get into the evening worship sessions, and even begin to (in their words) "truly feel the Living Presence of our loving God among us, loving us so tenderly, so personally! Oh, how I love Him! He is So Great!"

But the world's worship of the Antichrist's image (Revelation 13:15), no matter how blissful it may become for some people, and the world's worship of the Antichrist and Lucifer (Satan) the dragon (Revelation 13:4, Revelation 12:9), will last for less than 4 years (Revelation 13:5, Daniel 12:11-12) before Jesus Christ returns from heaven and completely defeats the Antichrist and Lucifer (Revelation 19:20 to 20:3), and Jesus then sets up his own, 1,000-year physical kingdom on the earth with the bodily resurrected church (Revelation 20:4-6, Revelation 5:10, Revelation 2:26-29).

There is no buy and sell symbolism of anything you can think of. Buy means buy and sell means sell.

The image will be erected. Make means make to make an image just as statutes of leaders have been erected before.

The evil spirit is in the spirit of the unregenerate, not the regenerated.

If you want to introduce some esoteric symbolic other meaning then you need basis for doing so. You have none. The traditional meaning stands.

Thank you again. Rev.1:1, "...and he signified (them)," The revelation Jesus showed, signified its meaning.

Signified ~ Symbolic = Presents a blending together of earthly figures with the "cause" and "effect" including what is said about the figures with a hidden (esoteric type) pointed spiritual comparative composite

Rev. 1.1 says signify. Signify what? Not esoteric vagaries, but "things which must shortly come to pass."

I sinfully condescend with others as brings me much cheap entertainment, ie, the threads, and too much lol. Been crossing the line too much. My point, only through going thru much confusion may one confront the Truth, now not lol that much.

"all the things as many as John saw." "Signify what?" as you already understand, constitutes the "revelation" which God gave to Christ. My point: The verbs "to show" and "to signify" match the form of the "revelation," namely the visions (literal symbolic figures that contain veiled meanings) which John "saw" (v.2).

You're confused. Buy means buy and sell means sell. Initially the implant under the skin will be voluntary then Rev. 13 says it will be forced on people. Literally won't be able to go to a grocery store and buy something without it.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Since it is just something esoterically vague and not literal, you will take Satan's mark to be able to buy and sell which indicates unsalvation for a saved person would never do that.

Rev.13:1-18 is a vision of the 2nd beast and would you take Rev.13:11 literally or symbolically, ie, "beast literally coming up out of the earth"as literally coming out of the earth, and now we have to look for someone with dirty clothes that hasn't bathed for awhile?

Just ol' old hopefully unmarked Jack btw an invisible mark today, ie, in the deeds of the hand and in the thoughts of their minds, utterly lack this ordinary unconfused Christian wisdom.

These things John saw are the things that shall come to pass. Pretty simple. What essentially is to come to pass are the events of the Tribulation including the implant under the skin to buy and sell (Rev. 13.16,17) and the destruction of the Vatican (17.16).

Why so confused? It is of your own doing.

I'll share an under the skin truthful interpretation of Rev.1:1's dei:, ie, the things that John saw "must occur."

Again, but a little deeper, this revelation covers "the things which must occur shortly," again defined as "all the things as many as John saw." dei may express any type of necessity, and the aorist genesthai (all Greek to me) is constative. Some conceive this "must" as expressing an absolute divine decree, ie, this is saying too much.

God does not decree the action of the devil and of his instruments, ie, I did like your "events of the tribulation." God decrees the office, work, and triumph of his Son, as the eternal King of course. With this decreed, all who set themselves in opposition "must" be crushed, but their opposition has not been decreed.

When God made Christ the Savior and the King, this brought not peace but a sword upon the earth as your aware. This was of course inevitable. My end point, I agree with you to a point: The Kingdom of hell is bound to rage against the Kingdom of Christ. Christ invades the evil Kingdom and destroys the works of the devil. Ergo the things that John saw "must" occur."

Just a btw "For the period is near," the kairos during which these things shall occur. The word always denotes a season or a period, longer oshorter, ie, marked by what it contains; xronos, "time," has no such connotation, it merely extends. The older Lutherans felt that the period for the occurrence of what Revelation records was clearly near in the year 95 or so. I strongly feel, to this day, technically began at 70 A.D.

Although the end has not yet come, and the kairos is still in progress, so much of what was to occur has already occurred, that now, surely, we may look the more eagerly for the end; however I'll not doubt croak before then.

Just ol' old Jack that agapes this part of Rev., ie, sorry got carried away

You know these things that shall come to pass are after 95 AD because Revelation was written 95 AD. [/B]

Only one problem, ie, other older Lutheran works (were in high German) , which I do agree with "these things" began at 70 A.D., Rev.11:3; Lk.21:24, and ends at the Parousia. A few other works had it begin at Matt.26:28, the start of the N.T. However I do, loosely speaking, agree began at 95 A.D. with you.

What did happen were the 7 church periods in Rev. 2 & 3 the past 2000 years. We are in the Laodicean last church period now of "differing opinions". Rev. 4 was the picture of the universe from heaven. Rev. 5 recounts the cross which is the 1st Seal. The first 4 Seals have passed. The 5th Seal is about to occur or has just occurred though we won't knowing because they are raptured martyrs from the past 20 centuries. The 6th Seal opens up the 7 trumpets of the Tribulation from Rev. 7 to 11. Rev. 12 to 19 give the details. None of these things after the 5th Seal have taken place yet except in Rev. 6.12 Great Earthquake 2010/11 and Nov. 3, 2013 is the H3 long Solar Eclipse the 4th one since Christ. The Tetrad is 2014/15 before the Tribulation starts with the first rapture "before the throne" (7.9) before the 1st trumpet (8.7) begins.

Obviously the implant to buy and sell has not been forced on people yet but it is getting more popular.

Wife not well and have to run for now; however appreciated your view, and you, and thank you again - just ol' old Jack

I guess you had troubles understanding that. Start with one item that you would like to understand better, perhaps I can expand on it for you.

Rev.13:17, "And that one be not able to buy or sell except the one having the mark. I have to agree with the older Lutherans on this one, ie, To buy and to sell is not to understood literally anymore than the rest of this symbolism like I stated before.

Throughout history others of import refused to deal with Christians, ie, say a boycott, plus the hatred and opposition has again and again been used against Christians. True Christians, ie, confessors, were barred out. Today's time Christians are encouraged to live the here and now and it's o.k. to have the world and Jesus. My point, not a Mason, many academic honors are withheld, publications denied, and etc. are withheld and denied who do not accord with the number "666."

Has to be rejected and understand why. Thank you again.

Revelation 1:1 doesn't mean that Jesus in Revelation chapters 6 to 22 is expressing the events of the future tribulation, and the subsequent 2nd coming, millennium and other events through only symbolic images, instead of indicating these events almost entirely literally. For just as the original Greek word (deiknuo, G1166) translated as "show" in Revelation 1:1 doesn't have to refer to something being shown through symbolic images, but can refer to something being shown literally (Matthew 8:4), so also the original Greek word (semaino, G4591) translated as "signified" in Revelation 1:1 doesn't have to refer to something being indicated through symbolic images, but can refer to something being indicated literally (Acts 25:27).

In Revelation 1:1,3, "shortly" and "at hand" can be understood in the same manner as "Surely I come quickly" in Revelation 22:20, which refers to Jesus' never-fulfilled 2nd coming. I.e., shortly/at hand/quickly in these verses can be understood from the viewpoint of God, not men (2 Peter 3:8-9).

Also, from the viewpoint of men, part of what Revelation chapters 2-3 foretold could have begun unfolding "shortly" (Revelation 1:1,3) after John saw his Revelation vision. For the letters to the 7 literal, first century AD local church congregations (Revelation chapters 2-3) in 7 cities in the Roman province of "Asia" (Revelation 1:11b) could have foretold a first century AD persecution (Revelation 2:10, Revelation 3:10) under the Roman Emperor Domitian which happened shortly after John saw his vision around 95 AD, near the end of Domitian's reign (Irenaeus, Against Heresies 5:30:3c). But even all the (to us) still-future events of the tribulation and subsequent 2nd coming of Revelation chapters 6 to 19 will unfold "shortly" (Revelation 1:1,3) or "quickly" (Revelation 22:20) after John saw his vision. For from the viewpoint of God, even the passing of some 2,000 years is like the passing of only two days (2 Peter 3:8). Christians should look at the future fulfillment of Revelation chapters 6 to 19 from the viewpoint of God, not men, for whom the passing of some 2,000 years seems like a long delay for its fulfillment (2 Peter 3:9).

Other books in the Bible contain prophecies of events that wouldn't occur for 3,000 to 4,000 years. For example, Ezekiel prophesied of the Gog/Magog event (Ezekiel chapters 38-39, Revelation 20:8-9) some 3,600 years before its (still future) occurrence. For Ezekiel gave that prophecy some 600 years before Jesus' first coming, but it won't be fulfilled until some 1,000 years after Jesus' (still future) 2nd coming (Revelation 19:7 to 20:10). Also, God prophesied Jesus' spiritual defeat of Satan at the Crucifixion (Genesis 3:15, Hebrews 2:14) some 4,000 years before its occurrence. And Isaiah prophesied God creating a new heaven and earth (Isaiah 66:22, Revelation 21:1-8) some 3,700 years before its (still future) occurrence. For Isaiah gave that prophecy some 700 years before Jesus' first coming, but it won't be fulfilled until some 1,000 years after Jesus' 2nd coming (Revelation 19:7 to 21:8).
