If they weren't literal days, then God would have been unjust in commanding the Israelites to keep the seventh day as the sabbath.
There was a 'physical sabbath' and there remains a SPIRITUAL SABBATH. Just as ALL the O.T. including the physical laws in one way or another spoke of Jesus, Jesus did not actually arrive until MUCH later in 'time.'
So it is with the The Final Spiritual Sabbath. That will be the 'age' that all who are to enter therein rest from carrying our own crosses. They who have therein entered STILL AWAIT our arrival therein.
Determining whether an amount of time is literal or figurative can be seen within the context of the scripture given.
Uh, no it cannot. A day cannot be AS a thousand years and a thousand years AS a day. That does not imply in any way, shape or form a strict/literal interpretation of literal time as men view same and it cannot. God is not a man and Gods Time is obviously much different than 'our time.'
Just as men condemn other men for non-adherence to a particular day of the week, they also condemn other men for not viewing the 6 days as literal days...and on and on it goes...with the only ONE THING in common ALL of those understandings bring...condemnation to others who are not led to see ONLY IN LITERAL PHYSICAL FASHIONS. Spiritual views are not restricted in such fashions NOR do Spiritual views bring such CONDEMNATIONS.
12 For
the priesthood being changed,
there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda;
of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
15 And
it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever
after the order of Melchisedec.
18 For
there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For
the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
We do not DRAW NIGH unto God in Christ UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES. Jesus was made HIGH PRIEST under a different ORDER, MADE after a DIFFERENT ORDER than THE LAW OF MOSES. IF Jesus does not MINISTER after the ORDER OF MOSES, but MELCHISEDEC there is an entire annuling of the LAW WHICH MADE NOTHING PERFECT, but HE DID make US who are IN HIM Perfect.
The Old Testament Law made sacrifices OVER AND OVER AND OVER again...showing the INABILITY OF LAW or of the MEN who followed same to make themselves Perfect.
Hebrews 10:14
For
by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
What your practice does is to CONTINUALLY drag the NON-Saturday sabbath observers
BACK to IMPERFECTIONS you merely DENIGRATE the ALREADY OBTAINED working of Christ.
I do not hold that against any you as Gods children. I know what the lawless do under the LAW. It seeks to CONDEMN MEN for what God has paid HIS LIFE for in Perfecting them ALL ON HIS OWN. Lawlessness in men says YOU SIN, YOU ARE CONDEMNED.
Jesus said that deal is DONE. It is the EVIL PRESENT and the IMPERFECTION in men that will continue to be shown and revealed UNDER THE LAW. Works better'n a clock.
enjoy!
