History is not as one-sided as you seem to think.

That's right... that's why we should start learning to discover the holy side of Holy Luther and his statements.

Yeah, history is not one sided, so we should learn to see Luther from the protestant angle. But would the Divine Judge see Luther from the protestant angle in the last judgement as well ???

You can judge a tree from its fruits.

- Protestantism: a gazillion denominations, church shopping, ministers putting hands on people's heads and claiming they are exorcising demons.

- Protestantism is a new religion it sure aint christianity. If protestantism is christianity so is JWs and mormonism! To become a christian Orthodox or Catholic one needs to convert...

- Dispensationalism

- A lunatic frenzy on armaggeddon

etcetcetc.

YECism and lots more.

The one that really shocks me is that The Virgin Mary is considered to be a human just like anyone. Just another poor sinner...

-.-'

Not all of Luther's statements and writings are at odds with Catholicism. Even Pope Benedict said the Augsburg Confession was a catholic document.

There were legitimate abuses that Luther was right to confront. If the church had been more initially receptive, then perhaps things wouldn't have gotten so far out of hand.

Have you ever wondered how protestantism gained so much ground so quickly? It wasn't because of Martin Luther's own preaching, but because of a long standing dissatisfaction with the Church in society.

Only certain denominations fit that bill.

Absolutely wrong. The Catechism states plain-as-day that Protestants are rightly called Christians.

- Dispensationalism

- A lunatic frenzy on armaggeddon

etcetcetc.

Again, only certain Protestants.

YECism and lots more.

Young earth creationism is an acceptable view in Catholicism.

The Blessed Virgin IS a human, just like us. She needed a savior, just like us. She was infused with saving grace before birth, unlike us, but that doesn't make her less human.

Seriously, if you're a Catholic, you need to read your catechism.

If a reformer who was well-intended could do so much damage, I can't imagine what would those who are a bit less well-intended be like...

He advised followers to sin, to sin boldly, even adultery; he blasphemed against God; he insulted the pope and reckoned the pope should be killed, he said of himself "to me he is God", etc.

Good grief. Luther was not advising people to sin. He was making a point about Grace.

The Pope reckoned Luther should be killed, and even tried to have it done, so I think they are even.

Who call the Pope The Antichrist great.

Again, only certain Protestants.

Aren't certain protestants protestants?????

Young earth creationism is an acceptable view in Catholicism.

But wrong. Only uneducated illiterate catholics hold that view or those converted from protestantism.

She is the Immaculate Conception no other human is. Nor did any other woman give birth to the Messiah. Hence co-redemptrix. Don't know about you but I don't fit those categories. Truth is Protestantism and Catholicism are two separate and different religions. They might have the word christianity or christian attached to them but they're different. Their theology is different, their lithurgy is different, their core beliefs are different. In China the accepted religions are buddist, taoist, islam, catholic and protestant..

And serious political issues around the way the CC was acting in civil society. It is not chance that Protestant countries were the ones being politically shoved around by Rome, while the countries that remained Catholic were the ones shoving Rome around for their own political benefit.

Uneducated illiterate Catholics? Did you know that Pride is one of the seven deadly sins?

No argument there. But she is still a human.

And if you don't think Protestants are really Christians, then maybe you should learn why the church considers Protestants Christians, but not Mormons.

Yup and even that opening and reading a junior high school science textbook isn't a mortal sin either! ;)

A tiny bit more important than any other human methinks!

I guess its because lutheranism/calvinism spread from within the catholic church thus still has some "catholicism" in it...

No. It's because of our common baptism, which unites all the baptized to the church, though imperfectly. Mormon's have such a fundamentally wrong view of God, that they cannot be called Christians and therefore do not have a valid baptism.

That's it? What about JWs?

Same. They are non-trinitarian. So are SDAs, but for some reason, they have a congregational forum here at CF. Which is strange. Seems they would be confined to Unorthodox Theology, like Mormons, but they are not.
