The Place Of The Law

[1 Timothy 1:8]; But we know that the law is good if a man use it lawfully. Knowing this that the law was not made for the righteous man but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners...

When God forms Adam in Genesis 2, he gives him a command, 'Of every tree in the garden, thou can eat except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.' But ask yourself this; why did he not first create both man and woman and then issue the command if it so be that it was important that even the woman hear it?

The woman herein is church; the incorruptible substance that was birthed when Adam (Christ), went to sleep (died.) God was not stupid in giving Adam the command in the absence of Eve. Prevalent in his mind was the fact that the woman, by design could never be subject to law.

Truth of the matter is that if Eve had eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil yet not given her husband to eat, judgment would never have come because she was by the mind of God incapable of corruption.

All this means that the law has no place in the church or in the lives of the saints of God. It was made for the corruptible. The church is incorruptible.

Scripture Reference: 1Peter 1:23, Genesis 2:17

The law has no place in the church or in the lives of the saints of God.

That's a beautiful image, seeing the church as taken out of the rib of Christ. I've never heard that before.

Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law and not abolish it. Our salvation was never guaranteed by the law, but the law was important for daily living in community.

General legalism does conflict with grace, as we rely on our adherence to rules instead of God to save us.
