The father set the date, the law ended...date is a chronological word.

Gal 3:23, in the above post, is chronological too.


Gal 4:2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father.

until Christ, all confirmation of Rom 10:4, Christ ended the law, unless one thinks the until did not happen.

Gasp! there was a time of no law..

Rom 5:13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.

It did not come until 430 years after the promise, according to Gal 3:17.

Unlike today, where people pick-n-choose which laws they like, back then, they had to DO ALL in the book, laws that pertained to each person.

Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.

Deut 28:15 “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you.



Deut 28:58 “If you are not careful to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God,


Neh 10:29 join with their brothers, their nobles, and enter into a curse and an oath to walk in God's Law that was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord and his rules and his statutes.


Ex 24:7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.”

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. 11 For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

Gal 5:3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law.



Gal 3:10 For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”

Leviticus 19:19

The law says one can't eat shrimp, lobster, crab, PORK, catfish, crawfish...

Probably more would be there too..

Interesting how all along, God was not desire some aspects of the law.


Heb 10:5 Consequently, when Christ[a] came into the world, he said,

“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me;
6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure.7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’

In fact, it did not benefit those who served either. It is a strange teaching to teach that we need feasts.

Heb 13:9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.


Notice how that stuff was not grace, grace strengthens, not ceremonies that were just shadows, Heb 10:1, Col 2:17.

The law, the shadow, was useless and weak...the whole temple system, the shadow..70 AD confirms that it's time had come for the ending of al of that, never to return again.





Hebrews 7:18-19 For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

The old is over, Paul and Stephen said, God does not dwell in temples made by hand or by men, Hebrews agrees, because it was inferior!


9:11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation)



Heb 8:2 a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.



Same as 2 Cor 5:5
5 For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

That OT era is over forever, time for people to see we have much much more.

Like Col 2, the shadow word here in Heb 10:1 is used in a derogatory manner, the old, the lesser. The whole system the Sabbath, festivals, the temple, it was all just shadows, all over now...bye bye...



Heb 10:10 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near.



Col 2:16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

The temple rituals only cleansed flesh..

Heb 9:13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify[f] for the purification of the flesh,

And like several Pauline passages, it just reminded if sin. That's all...no help by the OT sacrifices.

Heb 10:3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

We have the real, and better thing, that the OT people did not have, sin remission!


Heb 10:10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

This verse is clear, the OT people were not perfected yet, the perfected word is about sin removal. See Heb 7:11.

Heb 11:40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

How dare people want the old Cov!?

To revert to the old cov law was to spurn the Spirit of grace and the blood of the Cov, it was sin Heb 10:26-29.


Law is not grace, the old cov was not grace, and the enemy seeks to spurn the blood, to shame Christ, by getting people under the old cov.

Powerful words here, trample the don of God, outraged the Spirit too. How? By reverting to the old cov law shadows, turning on grace, not a good idea!


Heb 10:29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

The old cov was dated.

The old cov had a fading glory, it was not like the new cov which is permanent..


2 Cor 3:10 Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it. 11 For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory.

Good, because who needs death and condemnation anyway?!

2 Cor 3:7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory? 9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.

The old cov was of a man made temple, inferior by far, to us being the temple, law will never match grace, no way.

Heb 3:6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

Law says, you do this ot your punished..

Heb 2;2 For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,

Grace says, "I Jesus did it, and you're forgiven".

How can people still glory in the law is beyond me!
