The crown of the worker

[Acts 7:54-55], When they heard these things, they were cut to heart and gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being filled with the Holy spirit looked steadfastly up into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Steven was only a cook at the church in Jerusalem but he was so given to the word that when he preached, our Lord had to stand from his sitting position at the right hand of the father.

The Bible says that these men were cut to the heart. The Greek rendering therein is that they were sawn asunder, the same language used in reference to he that accurately divides the word of truth. Stephen's seed(his message) was anointed of God.

The name Stephen is translated as crown; honour, approval. He was a worker crowned by God even though he seemingly did not have the status to preach at the church at Jerusalem. This however did not stop him from finding a pulpit on the streets where he preached and performed great miracles. His job description did not define the substance he carried. He was not a man of title but a man of function.

This is what God desires to work in this generation. You will not need a pulpit, child of God. You do not need to sing in the choir or preside over a service. Because your weights are sank in knowledge, you are approved enough of God to minister to the deepest parts of men because yours is more than just a message, it comes with the graces of conviction.
