Everything is moving towards the end time and we are seeing a great religious movement presenting itself as the 'true gospel' even amoung Adventist and laying claim as being led by the spirit of God, yet it is not in harmony with God, or what His Son Jesus Christ gave us to follow so it cannot be from the Holy Spirit. So were is it coming from.....

"...Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth there will be among the people of the Lord such a revival of primitive godliness as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord's second coming.

The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God's special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world.
In many of the revivals which have occurred during the last half century, the same influences have been at work, to a greater or less degree, that will be manifest in the more extensive movements of the future. There is an emotional excitement, a mingling of the true with the false, that is well adapted to mislead. Yet none need be deceived. In the light of God's word it is not difficult to determine the nature of these movements. Wherever men neglect the testimony of the Bible, turning away from those plain, soul-testing truths which require self-denial and renunciation of the world, there we may be sure that God's blessing is not bestowed. And by the rule which Christ Himself has given, "Ye shall know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16), it is evident that these movements are not the work of the Spirit of God.
    Maranatha ch.25

"I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out from these churches; and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant." --EW 261.

The Word of God declares that when it suits the enemy's purpose, he will through his agencies manifest so great a power under a pretence of Christianity that, "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" [Matt. 24:24].--Ms 125, 1901.

As the spirits will profess faith in the Bible and manifest respect for the institutions of the church,
their work will be accepted as a manifestation of divine power.--GC 588 (1911).

The strongest bulwark of vice in our world is not the iniquitous life of the abandoned sinner or the degraded outcast; it is that life which otherwise appears virtuous, honourable, and noble, but in which one sin is fostered, one vice indulged. . . . Genius, talent, sympathy, even generous and kindly deeds, may thus become decoys of Satan to entice souls over the precipice of ruin.--Ed 150 (1903).

    Even in the Adventist Church
We have far more to fear from within than from without. The hindrances to strength and success are far greater from the church itself than from the world. Unbelievers have a right to expect that those who profess to be keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, will do more than any other class to promote and honour, by their consistent lives, by their godly example and their active influence, the cause which they represent. But how often have the professed advocates of the truth proved the greatest obstacle to its advancement! The unbelief indulged, the doubts expressed, the darkness cherished, encourage the presence of evil angels, and open the way for the accomplishment of Satan's devices.--1SM 122 (1887).

    Lying Spirits Contradict the Scriptures
The saints must get a thorough understanding of present truth, which they will be obliged to maintain
from the Scriptures. They must understand the state of the dead, for the spirits of devils will yet appear to them, professing to be beloved friends and relatives, who will declare to them that the Sabbath has been changed, also other unscriptural doctrines.--EW 87 (1854).

The apostles, as personated by these lying spirits, are made to contradict what they wrote at the dictation of the Holy Spirit when on earth. They deny the divine origin of the Bible.--GC 557 (1911).

Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness, Satan will bring the people under his deceptions. While the former lays the foundation of spiritualism, the latter creates a bond of sympathy with Rome.--GC 588 (1911).

Persons will arise pretending to be Christ Himself, and claiming the title and worship which belong to the world's Redeemer. They will perform wonderful miracles of healing, and will profess to have revelations from heaven contradicting the testimony of the Scriptures. . . .
But the people of God will not be misled. The teachings of this false christ are not in accordance with the Scriptures. His blessing is pronounced upon the worshipers of the beast and his image, the very class upon whom the Bible declares that God's unmingled wrath shall be poured out.--GC 624, 625 (1911).

    Amen!

There's alot we can see happening in the world today that tells us of how close we really are. I'll have to agree that one of the biggest signs of the nearness of the Sunday Law and the close of probation is what is going on INSIDE our church.

Just like EGW predicted the church is now in the worst state of apostasy as we've ever seen it. The wheat and the tares grow up together before the harvest... and it's almost here!

Just a couple days ago I heard that on February 23rd, 2008, the Atlanta Boulevard SDA Church(atlanta, georgie) had proudly presented a guest speaker by the name of Juanita Bynum, a proclaimed prophetess..

Here's the Atlanta SDA Church website:
    http://atlantaboulevard22.adventistchurchconnect.org/

And this is the kind of spirit that she brings to her meetings. Only need to watch about the first minute and a half to see what I mean....

Answer to yourselves brothers and sisters, is this the holy spirit working... or something else?

There is little doubt that a "spirit" is leading in this church. BUT, I will openly challenge the spirit!!!

If there is anyone who might wish to take up this challenge please do so in the Discussion & Debate Sub-forum.

    Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
    Doc

Sorry if I confused you tnp2140.

What I'm saying is that the "spirit" which is being displayed in the video clip is definately NOT the Holy Spirit. Rather, it is in fact, a demonic spirit.

Using the name Seventh-day Adventist, whether by a congregation or by an individual who does not uphold the church standards and biblical principals, does not make that church or individual a Seventh-day Adventist.

I pray that I have clarified the previous post.

Your frend and brother in Christ,
    Doc

PS: I do plan to speak with the pastor and ask him why this happened.

Yes doc, now it's clear. At first I almost thought you meant the exact opposite haha.

But things like this will continue to happen more and more in the near future. I'm sure many of you are aware of the growing apostasy inside our own church. There is much that Ellen White said that will happen within the church right before the very end, and well... we are seeing it progressing today.

Celebration churches, Ecumenical movement within the church, most pastors preaching 'love' from the pulpit instead of our sacred truths and what sets us apart from the rest of the world... It's all a part of a bigger agenda to drive our church into unity with all other religions in the world. The wheat and the tares growing up together before the harvest.

There is alot of info on this that I've been gathering up lately. And the events and signs taking place inside the church are an even bigger indication that probation will soon close...

I know exactly what you mean. I think several of Mrs. White's predictions have come true in our own forums. Although, I think the importance of love is not underminded, I does get a little ridiculous with these preachers saying nothing but love love love while everyone goes on living their carnal life but saying, "I love God so it doesn't matter." It is sad how Christianity has become so mainstream its almost a fad in western culture today, but what percentage of that is actually sincere? I don't pretend to know who is or is not sincere but I think it's evident there are plenty of wolves among the sheep.

How many times have you heard something said that sounds something like this? "If we have love for our fellow Christians we will embrace them as brothers and sisters." or "We should be accepting of those who say they hold the same beliefs we do but don't agree exactly with us." or "We're all in this together. Let everyone express themselves in their own way."

While these statements have their merrits, I also ask you to remember an old country saying; "You can't slop the hogs without getting some slop on yourself."

    Are you getting the picture?

    Dress accordingly.

    Respectfully,
    Doc

You jumped six years from the last post in this thread. However, it is relevant when you see the unrest, the disobediance in the church, teachings that a few years ago would never have been dreamed of seeing serious discussion about accepting them, and all happening in the SDA church.

I speak of divisions defying the world church to ordain women in the abscence of a vote of approval by the whole church, the push to not only accept gays as regular members of the church but give leadership positions to them, the growing acceptance of theistic evolution, and other teachings.

The thread started with a discussion of a pentocostal guest in an SDA church, but is now to actual practice and teachings of SDAs in the church.
