Hi there,
Just making useful predictions leading up to my cross (2053).
The Church will exchange prophesy for character. This will be in contradiction to the scripture
As such Church will continue to be about men-pleasing and not God or at least God, but in lip service only. For this reason false Churches will seem appealing and corruption will continue, with many failing to do works of any kind, in order to justify their faith. They will continue to espouse grace, while their Church going membership dies in their chairs, until at the last, they confess to God that they don't really know what they're doing, which the world will be well past leaving behind and so the Church will be left behind.
Furthermore, the Church will exchange humility for innocence. Indeed as I said, they will admit that they do not know what they are doing and will stay in a perpetual kind of self-pity, which Jesus speaks against in the letter to the lukewarm Church. There will be no way to hide from the wrath of God in this state, but in surrender, there will be some conversion for which the faithful among the Church will be grateful. However, many will continue to espouse grace and of these some will still fail to do works and so the Church will continue to die in its chairs. In all this the Holy Spirit will not breath upon them, to breathe life in to them, because they are still not of God and still not worthy of His attention.
Finally, the Church will exchange the fruit of the Spirit for the things of the world. Indeed the Holy Spirit will not breathe upon them and so they eyes will turn to the lusts of the flesh, including the pride of life, the lust of the eyes and they will begin to become worldly again. There will be many that resist this, and so the Church will remain constant and there will be some that see this happening as reason to be convicted and so will be saved, but there will still remain a few that are unaffected by the loss of their faith and so they will turn to the world and its ways, perhaps corrupting others with them in the process.
Unfortunately, because this happens to such a late stage in the faithful's development, even turning from their sin, believers will find it hard. They will have fallen behind already and will see that they are behind, but the way to catch up will not be to go off and do their own thing as they desire, but instead to turn to God and pray that the Holy Spirit breathe upon them and He will not do this but to remind them to seek prophesy, which the Devil certainly will not do (it's craziness to him). So it is that Paul's conviction for the Church that they love, seek fruit of the spirit and prophesy will only partially be fulfilled in the believers that continue.
You might be asking "then who can truly follow Christ?" That is the point. Not all are worthy, and it is God's will to test all of us, no matter what our strength and so there will be many that simply do not recall the words of Jesus that we be One, just as He and His Father are One. Indeed it will be lost on many that this - which He prayed so ardently for - rests completely on prophesy, in principle and is the conviction which Paul developed in following the Lord. So it is foolish to think that following Christ is as simple as simply deciding to and for this reason the test will seem to many as harsh, even too harsh, or not the will of God altogether. Yet God commands us to keep His Word.
For this reason the Holy Spirit will never be completely welcomed into the Church, even when it is apparent that He is wiser than all before Him and the strength of Man itself will fail to grasp what His purpose is, indeed that there is any purpose to the coming of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will not speak against this either, for it is futility and as demonstrated in His attitude to the Church when it is weak, He will not pursue the futility of it. Yes, He may speak, but what will be the point when so many fail to grasp the love of Christ that drives us forward? Those that hear Him, indeed may turn, but that will be the love of God, that drives them forward and so it is that many will pass Him over.
In all this Paul's conviction remains true, therefore desire prophesy will you yet have strength (selah)

1Co 14:1 said:Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
