um and how does he does he plan to maintain this all the way from here?
Maybe in coordination with the other countries in the Middle East who have already suggested doing this.

But how would they ensure that the Syrian government would actually respect that?

How do you have a beautiful safe zone in the middle of a war zone?
That too, is a good point and is largely what I meant by how would we maintain it?

Snipe Assad and put in our own puppet?

Tried it in Iran -- then they overthrew the Shah.
Tried it in Iraq -- al-Maliki was such a disaster his own army wouldn't fight Daesh despite superior numbers.

We don't have a lot of luck with puppet governments... just sayin'

Work with allies in the area, maybe the Russians, maybe us. Go in, create a safe zone. Brut force.

And maintain it in perpetuity with brute force? Where are you going to find the money to keep up an indefinite military occupation?

No, I'd like to go in hard and wipe out isis.

Sounds like a good strategy... for a video game/Rambo remake.

In real life, however, you've got to stop the problem at its two biggest sources:
  1. A destabilized Iraq
  2. The Syrian Civil War
It doesn't matter how many ants you step on if you don't deal with the anthills -- and these two can't be solved by "going in hard."

Paying for it, I dunno, print the sang money. It's all we do anyway.

Yeah... you're going to need to come up with something better than that -- and e-mail Trump when you do; he could use a good idea for that part...

Couldn't work because it would be impossible to establish without putting in foreign troops and this could cause the war to spread. An Egyptian had a good idea to use an Island in the Mediterranean and this is the best idea I have heard of. The ultimate goal should be for the refugees to return to Syria once the war is over and things have calmed down. If you bring them to Europe or North America, they probably won't want to leave afterwards.

Building a wall around it.

Don't worry, he'll get Mexico to pay for it.
