Ok...I just went outside to pray my nightly Rosary. I was sitting on my swing, praying softly, and into the first decade....


AND A POSSUM WALKS UP ON MY PORCH AND JUST STANDS THERE STARING AT ME!!!!!!!!!!




I choked a bit, stuttered a bit, but managed to keep going. I was afraid what it might do if I stopped! It sat there through the second Mystery, and then just turned and walked away! After which I got up and ran inside! What the heck!!! The only time I've seen those things is as road kill! What was it doing?!?!?! Now I'm afraid to go outside again.

oh, heaven those things are so disgusting with their beaty little eyes. I wouldn't want to go back outside either.

But it will probably just go away and you won't ever see it again. I wonder why it was so bold to come up on the porch though?

They look like rats with sharp teeth! *shudder* I don't know what it was doing. Or where it came from. We live in a developed neighborhood...no woods.

Only a Klingon would think possums are cute. I did wonder if they like shiny things...if it was attracted by my Rosary. I can just see me trying to climb that swing if it had tried to come closer!

I always thought they were smaller, but this thing was almost as big as a dog, but more round, like a pig. Must have been almost two feet long not including the tail.

Surprised by it, I went after it and it stopped, turned around and openned its mouth at me, aggressively. Nasty set of teeth they have.

Someone may have raised it as a pet or just fed it so that it wasn't fearful of humans.
That's probably all it was.

And yes possums are cute! I use to raise rats. They are the smartest rodents on the planet.
