The problem is that probably 50% of the kids in the school aren't Catholic. But, still.... it's a Catholic school. If you don't want your kids to be taught Catholic values send them to some other school.

I wonder how offensive and derogatory she was. Especially considering the reaction.

How offensive and derogatory are Catholics allowed to be normally?
Do Catholic nuns or teachers have to be less offensive and derogatory?

Do you get a free pass on being offensive and derogatory as long as what is said is in-line with church teaching?

We don't know that she was yet. No good priest or nun sets out to be offensive or derogatory.

I hope the nun and the people who support her hold firm. Doctrine isn't up for popular vote. It stays true whether you agree with it or not.

Which lends credibility to the speculation that she went beyond merely stating Church teaching on homosexuality and went farther into something offensive.

really? I would say that lends credibility to the speculation that she went into other areas of Catholic teaching instead of just focusing on homosexuality.

instead of JUST focusing on the homosexual issue she talked about other issues that effect Catholic families

or perhaps she was drawing upon how families are being broken apart? the family dynamic is no longer the same? even from a secular standpoint, the divorce part of her discussion should have elicited nothing but concurrences because the divorce rates at least in this country are abysmal.

I suggest that people read the commentary from the article I posted in the OP.

We need to get used to this fact, that the world hates us.
