I have taken the plunge and started a blog which I have called
Simian in the Temple :)
I hope to look at TE, Original Sin and Theodicy, as well as subjects like Social Justice, Women's Ministry and the Atonement.

The first two blogs are on the Adam
Adam in the age of Science. Part 1, OT views.
In an age when genetic comparisons have show our closest relative are chimpanzees and bonobos, how are Christians to understand Adam?

Adam in the age of Science. Part 2, Adam in the NT.
While there are no theological issues with evolution in the Old Testament, it is another matter when you get to the New Testament…

I have posted a new Origins blog at Simian in the Temple

How was Genesis 1 understood by the writers of the OT?
How was the creation account in Genesis 1 written? Was it meant as literal history to be understood as God timetable of creation, or was it a parable or poetic framework whose purpose was to teach truths other than a literal six day creation?

I love this. Thank you.

Me too.

I especially like the richness of the creation theology you have been able to bring out. These are depths that get missed when the focus is on a literal 6 days.

Yet they are much more important. They are real and worth serious consideration by YECs and non-YECs alike. They don't show that a literal interpretation is wrong, but don't depend on literal interpretation either.

What it shows is that literal interpretation is a relatively unimportant feature of the creation accounts and should not override these much more important teachings.

by the way, were you aware of this? Assyrian Dalek

If Sennacherib had at least one Dalek and he couldn't take Jerusalem, does that mean that God sent the Doctor to help king Hezekiah?
Jeremiah 8:22 Isn’t there balm in the land of Gilead? Isn’t there a doctor there?
I checked. Jeremiah 8:22 (NCV) Isn’t there balm in the land of Gilead? Isn’t there a doctor there?
But it's only 'a' doctor.

However, the NIV should have been more careful with their commas
Colossians 4:14 Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings.
