I'll use my friend Ted's argument below to kick this off.
Think about what Ted is saying. Gambling and drinking are wrong, but not illegal, therefore, abortion can also be legal, even though it's wrong. Now he's speaking specifically about the murder of the unborn (the most innocent members of any society), but this argument could be applied more broadly. I've also heard this same argument applied to gay marriage, and many decades ago it was applied to slavery. So what wrong with this?
First, neither drinking nor gambling are said to be a sin in Scripture. The Bible actually gives guidelines on safe drinking (Jesus drank wine, after all). And gambling would fall under stewardship. But what does Scripture say about Murder—the unjust killing of the innocent? Does the Bible give us special guidelines on how to murder unborn babies?
It's very obvious to anyone reading Scripture with an open obedient heart that God does not want murder (the unjust killing of the innocent) to be legal in any form by any government. As Paul and Peter both explain, governments basic role is to punish evil and protect the innocent (Romans 13, 1 Peter 2:13-17). I can't think of anyone more innocent and more in need of protection than the unborn.
....I'm pretty confident that God doesn't want His children gambling or using drugs or doing much drinking of alcohol. But, all these things are legal to a point. Do you honestly believe that what man deems legal or not legal will have even the slightest affect on how God will judge?
So, for me, it's perfectly ok for abortions to be legal. ....

Rom. 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
Ted strongly advocates for Hillary Clinton and abortion rights, and now I see why. But we Christians can never support something as evil as the murder of the innocent. God help us the day the Church crosses that line. We'll lose every last bit of moral standing we have left.
