Shooting down drones ..... uh-oh!!! Hope they don't sell them at Walmart!

The U.S. Air Force recently zapped an Islamic State drone with an electronic weapon, the service’s top civilian said.

Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James on Monday said the service targeted a small, weaponized drone operated by militants “a week or two ago” because it was responsible for killing four non-U.S. citizens in the Middle East.

“The Air Force over there in theater was informed there was one such unmanned aerial system in the vicinity and fairly quickly we were able to bring it down, we brought it down through electronic measures,” James said at an event hosted by the Center for a New American Security in Washington, D.C.

On tv 3 or more months ago
a group in California did this / shot down drones bringing drugs from mexico .....
They could shut down all the electronics in any vehicle (truck, car, airplane) they aimed the device at too.

10 Years ago, the Highway Patrol had some of these to
cause the engines in a car to stop. (very strict limited usage)

the highway patrol / police have had them a long time(decades).

The ones in california were doing it for a tv show.

Probably yes - - "newly configured versions" are coming out every six months for everything it seems - at higher costs(greatly increased)
and lower reliability (time wise if not physically) - i.e. "expires/ not usable" after six months to 2 years - UPGRADES REQUIRED (like most computers/ and software) ....

Remember when a good running car cost $6,000.00 and got 25 mpg (a 3000 lb chevy in 1960) ?

Try to find anything for under $22,000 today, ...
that will last more than 2 years..... (maybe it will, but just the INSURANCE for it will cost MORE than a car cost in 1960 to 1978)
