UPDATE: I believe it was James "Big Chief" Wetherington (1922-1973) singing bass.

Ah yes. The Big Chief. Heard a lot about him but do not recall personally hearing him live.

I for sure didn't... but of course, he died the year I was born so naturally it wasn't possible.

I'm just one who appreciates various types of music from different eras and cultures. I enjoy studying it; it simply fascinates me how it has evolved over the years and how certain styles can be mixed together in some musical pieces making for some quite unique sounds. I'm always on the lookout for such musical pieces.
