I have a possible chance of re-enlisting back into the service (Reserves this time, not active).

Theres more than one major hurdle I got to overcome to do this (and its just not my age either).

Am requesting prayer that God will help me in these hurdles I need to jump across - I only need less than 3 more years of duty to lock in my retirement for age 60 (only 10 yrs away).

Its sorta a long shot so hence why I am asking for help.

I was hoping you would apply for those moderator positions we spoke of here on CF, now that you're able to do that. If you go into the reserves.. you may not have the time to moderate though.

The recruiter called today - one big hurdle is done - my records were scattered thru different records holding places and my health records were totally missing.

somehow, someway, the recruiter was able to find what is needed to determine paper wise if I even qualify to re-up.

I see him this Monday after work to show that I can perform some deep knee bends and a couple other things that will be required of me at the official physical and then after I prove that for an old goat I still have some lead left in my pencil, I fill out the forms to go take the physical at a later date.

so, please comtinue to pray - I really appreciate it..

First I ask forgiveness of all of my sins, and I pray that you would cleanse me of all impurities as my prayers lift up to be in your presence. Please bring them before the Heavenly Father, as I am your humble servant, and only seek to lift up this man who is even now, searching for your presence in his life. Lord he wants to re-enlist as a means of providing better for his retirement. Whatever the hurdles are Lord, they are not too great for you to overcome. went and did some paperwork with the recruiter today and confirmed he has my medical records!!

if all things work out, I may go take my physical this coming friday.

No guarantees, no absolutes, no promises. I understand fuly that this Friday oi could be told the big NO and its all over. at least I will finally get an answer to this one way or the other.

but then again, they could say, " hey sarge, welcome back." now wouldnt that be great.

Even if you get the big no, the screening process could lead to other things. Who knows. You have already passed the test of not strangling bothersome neighbors.

ok - update

the physical date I was supose to have several weeks got cancelled. I now have a new appointment next Wednesday 29 Aug so hopefully that will be the where I get an answer to all this.

please keep me in your prayers. i really want to go back in. I miss it. plus the pay and the retirement.

ok, update:

I failed my physical last week. The AF doc said I am in better shape than some of personnel half my age and in way better shape than a lot of the personel that is my age.

BUT... got some serious issues that what they call make me "Non-deployable in a World Wide Status" - IOW, cedrtain thigs that make you unfit to go overseas make you unfit foir duty.

I got some serious dental issues - need a couple teeth yanked so that can be fixed. (and trust me - pulling is the only option)

theother is mroe serious - I am have more a hearing loss than I thought or its worsen since I got ou in '00.

I failed the hearing test.

BUT... the doc said I can go on my dime to a civilian specialist, have them do a test amd oif teh results are better than the aging equipment I was tested on, then it will be considered and place me on the "Pass" list.


so, last week was disheartening, real bummed and all but its not totally over.

so, continue to pray please that unless I get a final official "NO", that a "YES" is still an option at some point...

update - I took the civilian hearing test the other day and the results were no better than the miltiary's.

got a cople more thiengs to deal with then gonna submit it anyways but I prety much accept that my career aint gonna get finished.

I just dont undertand - they are sending amputees back intocombat and I cant even get back in the door with a hearing loss (not total either) on one ear.

one person I know suggested maybe its becase I would so close to retirement if I got to go back in and they dont want to pay...

maybe its that simple.
