Remember Your First Love
Revelation 2:4-5
Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its placeunless you repent
Remember when you first discovered the absolute joy that comes from walking with Jesus? Do you remember when you met him, really, for the first time? When what He had to say to you, and for you, first really hit home?
The unexplainable joy!
You were so excited about your relationship with the Lord Jesus, and what was happening, that you wanted everyone to know. The world looked different, the colors richer, everything was changed -- made new.
How does your love for Jesus now compare to this first love? Has it faded? Or grown cold?
Jesus repeatedly challenges His followers to love Him, not just serve Him. Devotion always precedes duty.
