Yes, exactly :D
I also love the way Isaiah 40 links with the theme of the shepherd in the New Testament, not only John 10 but also Hebrews 13 and the 'great shepherd of the sheep' in the context of Christians aware of a Jewish heritage.

Yes, it is a BEAUTIFULLY all-encompassing book, and a glorious history lesson on the Hebrews...

I do think that some of Isaiah is little know, even though parts of it are famous...

Yes, it's a glorious study, ALL of it. God's heart is shared in much of it.....

We would all understand the roots of the New Testament better if we read Isaiah more thoroughly...

Yes, that's what the Bible teacher was saying. He said it should be required reading LOL!

I like the way the New Testament takes up the Old and applies it, in exactly this way.

Yes, EXACTLY. We can't really understand ANYTHING without studying BOTH. It is only when we study BOTH that those connections and themes and truths weave together into the exquisite tapestry our God is telling us about.....

Revelation is a wonderfully broad panorama, but focused on the Person and Work of Christ, as revealed in both Testaments!

Yes it is, and one of the more difficult books for me....

what is the revelation principle?
I meant, the fact that God has revealed Himself in His Word, rather than the 66th book at the end of the Bible. It is a glorious process how He reveals Himself gradually from Old to New, in the various Bible books.

Yes! He DOES, doesn't He? It sounds like you love Him and His Word....
