in all seriousness, it is a bummer indeed. some of their lyrics are very good I think, and from time to time come close to, or indicate a desire for what we have in Orthodoxy. What if the band knew of us? Its frustrating that so many express a longing for what we have, but don't know about Orthodoxy.

Its interesting that the option of a sibling type of love never seems to be considered. The concept would probably be scoffed at but it could at least be offered. I know monastics embody this but for 99.9% born into the paradigm shift (post 10 commandments, post golden rule etc.) being monastic is even more remote than to the 99.9% born previously.

I'm sorry to hear this, as I'm also a fan of their music. I heard them live a few years ago at our small town's 4th of July festival. They & U2 are the only Christian groups I listen to anymore.

I reckon the reason he is unable to think of any good reasons for opposing "gay marriage" is because his mind is stuck in a post-enlightenment thought paradigm that defines good as what feels good or doesn't physically hurt anyone else.

it does in a way. worldliness is creeping in from everywhere. usually, the CCM crowd were at least morally conservative.

and I still say our bluegrass band should be the Transfigured Tabor Mountain Boys
