She's white. No one can mistake that. I'm waiting for the news that reports she's being sued for fraud and any number of other things. She filed law suits claiming racial discrimination because she was black and years ago. She's not black. She will never be black. She's a liar, a fraud, and she duped the NAACP for years.

When's her book coming out?
Here's a title that would be appropriate: White Privilege. How a white woman avoided prison due to fraud and gamed a black race association dedicated to furthering the rights of black people.

Quite a few, in fact.

For example, consider the infamous Gratz v. Bollinger case.

The University of Michigan required all prospective students to take an entrance examination, with a perfect score being 150 points.

If you belonged to a specific minority group, you got an automatic 20 points just because. This was a bigger point bonus that a perfect SAT score, which was only worth 12. Because of this, we had the hypothetical prospect of qualified and competent white and Asian kids being passed over for less competent kids of other races simply because of their races. As you can imagine, SCOTUS smacked this down 6 - 3.

What percentage of black heritage does she need to be considered black? Maybe in her past there is a connection. A DNA test would confirm some likelihood and a family tree could also. She could also discover she's just as white as a snowflake but not as pretty.

If she identifies as poc, then who are we to say otherwise? Aristotle said, "A is A"; but have we asked A?

Race is arbitrary and silly. I am white skinned with blue eyes and blonde hair, yet I have Angolan, Madagascar, Khoisan, Indian (Bengal and Tamil), Indonesian and Chinese heritage from about 350 years ago when my ancestors left Europe for South Africa and took wives from amongst their slaves as well as freedwomen and their daughters. Obviously this was diluted by centuries of Europeans thereafter, but those people are as much my ancestors as any other.
We in South Africa then implemented Apartheid (Segregation in Afrikaans) and have been struggling with the consequences ever since, while none of us did not have some colouring in us.

External racial classifications are more trouble than they are worth. In my opinion, racial classifications should be abolished as well as affirmative action. It is insulting to minorities to give them a hand up as if they are inferior to the majority and need things to be easier for them. This then perpetuates ideas of inferiority as the majority students will automatically assume that the minorities are dumber etc. than they are and this attitude will carry over into their careers and hiring practices.
Everyone should be placed on an even playing field. No advantage merely due to an accident of genetics should be tolerated, even if historically they were underprivileged. They could rather invest more in minority schooling etc. than impose quotas and lowering entrance standards and such. But even such programs cannot be allowed to continue forever or you are merely institutionalising a reverse form of discrimination.
Besides, you never know what weird branch is hiding in your genealogical tree (For instance many black Moors came over into Spain in the Middle-Ages and served under Frederick II in Italy and Germany. It is likely that many Spanish, Italian and German families have black ancestry from 800 years ago that they are unaware of).

Let the girl call herself whatever she wants. It shouldn't matter. The fact that it does is an indictment of society in general.

To answer someone elses question, Ms.Dolezal is coming out with a book about race. I would agree this is why this story is being reinvigorated. She would have to reiterate her delusion that she is still black in order to let people know who the one selling the book on race is.

I don't know how Ms.Dolezal could be successful in deceiving the NAACP for so long given her appearance is clearly Caucasian. Even with her patronizing of tanning beds over those years she was with them. She doesn't even have brown eyes. She's whiter than I am for goodness sake.
