Prayer for something that won't stop.

Today I messed up again. Been doing relatively good until today. I need prayer that the devil will stop temping me and that God gives me the power/strength to stop what I am doing. I can only do it with him. I want to be free of this forever so I never have to come back here with prayer about it. Thank you.

I know how you feel, we can never be free from temptation, the old foe Satan will whisper in our ear, but it is how we fight back that matters, Spiritual warfare

The way that I counter the old foe Satan, is to quote Scripture,
Romans 3:24 We are declared 'not guilty' of sin
Romans 8: 1 No condemnation awaits us

The Weapon that we have is the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit!

Jesus memorized Scripture...lots of it!

I suggest, maybe start with Ephesians,
I remember being told once to replace 'we' with 'me' and make it personal...
verse 3 would then read...
How I praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me with every blessing in heaven because I belong to Christ...
wonderful to quote back to Satan!

Long ago even before he made the world, God chose me to be his very own...
Fight....let him have it!

Fight! Fight back! and use the weapon, the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, so powerful that Satan cannot stand the sound of it!
Fill your mind with the verses from memory, (it takes me a while to learn text, so I take it slowly, a phrase at a time), let the mind of God be in you...

We will all stumble from time to time but what's important is that we don't draw ourselves away from God. The devil wants us to feel so ashamed and lost that we shun away from God but our God is most compassionate and forgiving, He always wants us to turn to Him no matter what!
