Well, Pope Francis gave Cardinal Sarah a high Vatican position so he has not forgotten conservatives entirely.

His appointing progressive cardinals might have been necessary to give balance to the existing group if cardinals. After all Cardinal Bernardin, who was mentioned in the article, died years ago--was his luminous and holistic vision ever replaced?
