Fair enough. I do agree that it's sad though obviously from a different viewpoint. If you think that a woman breastfeeding is as offensive as a man urinating publicly in a church then yes...... sadly we disagree

Modesty is dying in America
Aw maybe everyone is worrying more than they need to. I think most women would want to breastfeed and be exposed as little as possible. But the pope's comment means that if a woman does breastfed her child in church, she is not going to get an adverse comment from some members of the congregation because her action is supported by the Pope.Modesty is dying in America
AMEN!I would rather see a baby nursing in church than listen to the baby crying. Sometimes a baby nurses for comfort, too.
I have never run into a militant breastfeeder.
Modesty?? Breastfeeding did not shock before the XIX th century and its obsession for purity. Were all these people privated of modesty? Actually, it shocked in my country because it meant the mother was too poor to have a nurse to take care of the child instead of her. Not really what I would call modesty!Modesty is dying in America
Neither did slavery or wife beating. i.e. so? How is what did/didn't shock hundreds of years ago (or more) relevant?Modesty?? Breastfeeding did not shock before the XIX th century
Also irrelevant. We can't say obviously, but I suspect Mary would not have had a problem using formula in a bottle during Mass if it was available. You would simply consider the number of paintings with Mary breastfeeding Jesus...
On the contrary, it has everything to do with it.Modesty has truly nothing to do with it.
Really? People walked up and went "it's beautiful how you whipped out your boob during Mass to feed your child during Mass" - ??Nobody told my mom she was not modest when she did that with her six children, people actually found it beautiful that she took the time to give a part of her own to her baby,
It's hardly "bait," but props on the insulting insinuation.Don't take the bait. You're on the side of life and love, you have nothing to defend.
Modesty has truly nothing to do with it.
On the contrary, it has everything to do with it.
Not sure if this kind of language is helpful in the debate. Most are done discreetly, to my knowledge.A women does not have to pop out her boob for everyone to see,
Have you even read this thread?! LolExactly. A women does not have to pop out her boob for everyone to see, if she can't find a private place than she should use something to cover up.
The liberalization of society has eroded modesty and common decency to epic proportions
