our Church is meant to be evangelical
this move just makes us looked more closed off
That's why Catholics should all go to G T an help each other in debates...
That would be a powerful evangelizing.
Maybe a larger group of oneness would be effective.
However...in here we just want to work on not debating against all things Catholic.
Our chill.

it would be a relief if we could stop having to debate all things Catholic in here.
but that's not where we are at now.

CF has graciously allotted forum spaces for divergent views on the Catholic Church to be aired,
which is a very helpful and supportive thing to do.
we need to utilize those forums more, and OBOB less IMHO.

this space should be the common meeting ground,
not the place where we come to churn up the ground in
disputes with each other.

Attracting more attention to conspiracies and sedevacantist suggestions seems like a bad idea.
From a site wide perspective, it doesn't matter. If they want to show up, it will happen.

All forums posts should be on the new posts list as far as I'm concerned.
Wait, was "Salt of the Earth" also removed from the "New Posts" list?

the vote was only for OBOB

as a much smaller forum that is still trying to find its footing, Salt of the Earth should be in New Posts list so to attract more traffic

I perused it just today. I don't participate because I don't like rediculous conspiracies or the promotion of sedevacantist views. I'm not sure how you could miss them in there.

as the good book says "the wheat and the tares are side by side"

some of the comments in Salt Of The Earth are beyond the pale
just as some comments in OBOB are equally unacceptable (though here it tends to be more for religious indifference or immoral lifestyles)

So long as the community consistently vocally and overtly calls out what is unacceptable, I think the community can be called good. When the community let's those comments go without comment, I'm not sure the same can be said.

Well some of us are into conspiracy personally I'm not.
Just the same way that liberal and sometimes even heretical views passes without being policed in TLT the same goes for ultra Trads in Salt of the Earth with their sometimes overemphasised thesis etc.

If you see the replies to the most extreme threads you'll notice how few people who actually post in them.

We are a very small subforum, but most of us are traditional in a obedient sense and so am I.

You should make use of the Statement of purpose over individual thread starters when you make up your mind about the forum.

No comment can be seen as an indication that the topic is totally uninteresting too.

The statement of purpose is, unfortunately, nonsense. Whatever the intended purpose of the forum might have been, it serves little purpose but to serve as a place for bizarro world conspiracies and (sometimes not) veiled suggestions that we don't have a Pope or that the SSPX is correct regarding V2.
