Lots of reasons...

1). More gang activity.
2). More frustration against the government.
3). Worse economic situations.
4). Bad healthcare system.

The list goes on and on. All of these things can lead to frustration and a general dissent against authority and government. America is supposed to be a "melting pot" that is multicultural, but yet a lot of these cultures don't like each other. You have the gang culture that hates white people, you have your ordinary citizens who hate the gangs and the crime they bring, oh, and we live right next door to the drug cartels in Mexico... that doesn't help either.

And then there's stuff like the Mafia, etc etc etc.

Our government is By Big Business, of Big Business and For Big Business... but only, what, <20% of the total population ever partakes of it, and the other 80% can barely afford to live and resent the other 20% for it.

This is what happens when you have extreme capitalism and the rule of money.

I'm not saying we should go socialist, but yet extreme capitalism is rearing its ugly head.

That’s nice, when I lost my job in the United States in 2013; it took 15 months just for me to finally receive $325 a month in food stamps. Ironically, one month after I was approved for that small benefit, I received a job offer that was pretty sweet and took it.

$650 divided by 68 weeks at 40 hrs a week = $0.23 an hour for me.

I was a white looking Jewish guy with $27.25 and still had to wait a week for the card. I asked what I was supposed to do and they said there were food trucks a various locations during the month to get food. I asked how am I supposed to get there when I do not have gas money, it was my own fault because I have a Suburban, like I could buy a Prius for $27 dollars. I asked for a list of the locations and they were out.

'Round these parts, you call 911, tell them your problem, and it's up to dispatch to send the suitable response. A guy waving a knife around is going to most likely bring cops first, EMTs second. It's not like we can call 911 and say "we want an ambulance!", well, I suppose we could, but dispatch determines what we actually get.

The video game reference is because of all the woulda-shoulda happening. It's not a non-sequitur. A man lost his life because he was wirelding a knife, approaching officers, and he was suicidal to begin with.

if you're taking it as a backhand, you are definitely misunderstanding what I'm trying to say.

People ask "why didn't they shoot him in the leg?" "Why didn't they throw bean bags at him?" "Why this, why that?"

Some of these scenarios are Hollywood Policing. Cops aren't taught to shoot for the leg. In a video game, you can aim for a leg all you want, because when the other guy takes you out, you just respawn. You don't die.

This here is not a video game. And yes, someone lost their life. Why? Because of the poor choices they made leading up to the situation.

Yes. Autism and the desire to be the opposite sex don't automatically equal mentally incompetent. This person sent texts out to friends stating what she was going to do. That takes some forethought, something not generally cognizant with someone who isn't mentally competent to make choices.

I remember the video with the dog. I don't think he was really making choices when he was in that state cause he was too overcome. I wonder if he really lunged at the police w a knife or if he was so freaked out they were in his house he just came forward w it.
