Will you be keeping the babies?

We keep them past fledging... having hand-tamed them
then they will go FREE ~to homes around the neighbourhood

Having seen the mating ritual [in process]
and watching the seed pots emptied in minutes,
just so the hen could crouch in them, we decided
to place a nestbox in the cage ~to allow this LAST clutch to develop

Afterwards, Charlie will be moved in with Timmy
and Cher, can spend her remaining time, 'in memory' of, her productive cycle

The Housing Authority do not allow Aviaries in the gardens of their properties
So, both space and hygiene conditions, must, be prime considerations

It is not without a twinge of regret, that we have-to impose these restrictions [upon ourselves]
~Too-late [this time] to prevent the impending

That is a nice gesture :)
We can't have Aviaries either, because they draw the wildlife to the lake community; and too many birds inside would flare my asthma...... but how I would love to!
My best days in youth were working for the State Ornithologist (as I have shared in the past).
Birds are my great love (next to my Penny of course)

I can't keep birds either, but do love them...they are amazingly gorgeous.

Pics later

We expect chick #3 overnight /tomorrow

We now have 'the first' chick @ three times the size of 'the second'
It is not uncommon, for the smallest to be stomped upon and pass-away
Nature, is what it is .....
Miraculous and yet, very often, is so-hard to understand

Glad to hear they are doing well, and praying all survive
I saw a lot of that in my field trips for the Ornithologist.
'Nature' does a lot of 'wild' things...especially with competitive species (survival of the fittest no matter who/what you are)

Rehashing an ancient post of mine

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years.
Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.
You have your work, your friends, your entertainment,
but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words,
I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember
that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative,
ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
Perhaps I'm not getting the right food,
I have been in the sun too long, or my heart
might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old.
You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please.
Never say you can't bear to watch.
Don't make me face this alone.
Everything is easier for me if you are there,
because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets.
Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience
without God's critters

~Now please pass this on to other pet owners.
We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope,
love, and joyfulness.
It is here on earth and has four legs!

=
