BTW, the video's do not promote a religion.

IMO a video extolling the virtues of a particular religion's contributions to women's rights promotes that religion at least as much as an unembellished cross in a public park does.

A video where Muslim children talk about their lives in America is promoting a religion? LOL Do you have a problem when a member of Congress talks about their Christianity?

Considering the Park Service never paid for, or produced the videos, I do not see a problem. Do you?

Is this clear enough?

The National Park Service tells me no federal taxpayer dollars were spent on the production of the videos. They said the funding came through a donation from the Friends of Women’s Rights National Historical Park.

A video where Muslim children talk about their lives in America is promoting a religion?

Not if they do not mention their religion at all and only talk about their lives in America. I doubt a video about the contributions of Islam to women's rights neglects to mention Islam when talking about Islam's contribution to women's rights. Now, if it was a video about people's contribution to women's rights and mentioned individual Muslim's contribution to those rights without ascribing the contribution's to the religion itself that would be fine.

LOL Do you have a problem when a member of Congress talks about their Christianity?

Yes, I do, because that has nothing to do with their position in the government and they ought not try to use their religion to advance their own agenda or their reelection. That, however, is a matter of a citizen expressing their thoughts not a matter of the government endorsing the contributions of that citizen's religion so it is not unconstitutional. If the government produced, or made, or assisted in the making of a video of that member of Congress talking about their Christianity or its contribution to the country, I would consider that action unconstitutional.

You have neglected to reveal the evidence that the Park Service never paid anything. There is more financially involved in producing a video than paying one person ? Additionally ,If an arm of the Federal government is seen to be endorsing a particular religion by extolling it's virtues there is a problem.

I provided an article where the Park Service said that no federal funds were used. I guess you passed by the post.

It's a shame when anything that doesn't pucker to the [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] side of Islam in these forums is tagged as "Islamophobia".

Opinion-phobia is what posts that on a tag. For shame. Tolerance for all manner of evils but not for peoples opinion when it comes to anything that isn't kissing all over Islam.

That video would reflect the exercise of the first amendment right of freedom of speech. Just as the unembellished cross in a public park extolls the virtue invested in the freedom of religion guaranteed in that same 1st amendment.

Those that don't learn from history are condemned to relive it. Communism, and national socialism gained primacy by first attacking the faith based articles the targeted citizens of a country would have to fall back on once the iron curtain came down and the hammer started pounding them into servitude.

The push by ultra-leftists in this country who are anti-religion while cladding their opposition in a liberal ideology that claims their assault is for the good of freedom for all, are exactly like the element that preceded the blanket oppression that befell soviet Russia and every communist nation wherein religion was outlawed.

Don't be fooled! Atheist = anti-theism.

Sofia Brewer-Berres is an intern at Penn State University and works in the Library Learning Services Department.

And the earlier quote stated that she was paid not by the National Park Service but by a privatr non profit institution called The Friends of Women's Rights National Historical Park. It was Bedford that quoted the article and in a later post said she was paid for 3 films by the Women's Rights National Historical Park .I wish to know which is correct or perhaps if she was paid for 3 different films by the Park Service and for the video about Islam by the Friends organization.

From Bedford's post #5 in this thread in which I believe Bedford was quoting the article or some other source as these were not likely his own words since they were in quotations.

The intern, Sofia Brewer-Berres that developed the tolerance videos was paid by the Friends of Women's Rights National Historical Park.

From Bedford's post #19 in this thread in which I believe Bedford himself was the source though I am not sure of how he acquired the information as it directly contradicts the earlier quote. It may simply have been an oversight in which he forgot to include the extra two words but I can't simply assume that is the case. . .

Sofia Brewer-Berres filmed, edited and produced the 3 films, and she was paid by the Women's Rights National Historical Park.

Yes, the National Park Service Really Made Videos Showcasing What They Say Are Islam’s Contributions to Women’s Rights | Video | TheBlaze.com
The National Park Service (NPS) created a series of videos last month highlighting Islam’s contributions to women’s rights.
...
In March, the NPS said they were preparing to open road later, close visitor centers, furlough park police and hire fewer seasonal workers to meet the 5% sequestration budget cuts mandated by Congress and President Obama, according to USA Today.

And when the NPS created them that means government tax dollars paid for the production.

The Park Service did not create these videos!

Don't you people do any research?

Is there a term for a person breaking Godwin's Law, except with the Reds instead of the Nazis. From hereon out I will call it Stalin's law. You compare an atheist to Stalin just because he's an atheist, you lose.

Here's what else your link said ... and what the Park Service didn't say. National Park Service produces videos praising Islam | Fox News
The National Park Service did not respond to questions about whether they’ve produced videos promoting other religions – like Christianity or Judaism.

The video praised Islam’s treatment of women – while completely ignoring the violence and discrimination many women are still facing in modern-day Islamic nations.

I think you're putting words into someones mouth unfairly there.

atheist (n.) 1570s, from French athéiste (16c.), from Greek atheos "without god, denying the gods; abandoned of the gods; godless, ungodly," from a- "without" + theos "a god" (see Thea).
The existence of a world without God seems to me less absurd than the presence of a God, existing in all his perfection, creating an imperfect man in order to make him run the risk of Hell. [Armand Salacrou, "Certitudes et incertitudes," 1943]
atheism (n.) 1580s, from French athéisme (16c.), from Greek atheos "without god" (see atheist). A slightly earlier form is represented by atheonism (1530s) which is perhaps from Italian atheo "atheist." Ancient Greek atheotes meant "ungodliness."

I would say it's particularly one sided in extolling the virtues of Islam when there are cases in the U.S. where Muslim women and girls have been killed due to the 'rules' or Sharia laws of Islam.

Islam's treatment of women should be fairly reported if an organization claims to be in favor of educating about the truth of this religious group. Rather than seeking to invoke tolerance for a faith that is not tolerant. Even of it's own women showing anything more than one eye in the command for full cover dress.
