At the risk of repeating ourselves over and over again. Anyone with half a brain (and I don't mean this as an insult) can read the Gospels for themselves and there they will see the commandments of Christ to love God and neighbor, to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, that to say you love God but hate your neighbor makes you a liar, and they will see the very example of the life of Christ Himself, who went around doing good, and when falsely accused and sentenced to crucifixion, did not strike back at his enemies but went to the Cross for our salvation, forgiving those who were crucifying Him.
When they do the above, and read the lives of the ones the Church regards as saints, they will see that the actions you mentioned above are an deviation from the clear commandments of Christ and His Life.
People need to take responsibility for themselves and for how they chose to respond to any information they come across in their life. We are not at the mercy of whatever falls into our laps, we must always be seeking, learning, asking questions, comparing, reading, etc.
I'm sure others have told these people that they are making us look bad, but we have free will, and telling that to people isn't going to stop them from doing what they want to do.
