I'm glad he did this. Twice I had to make my two year old wear a mask to the ER because he gashed his head open, and then inadvertently pulled one of them out. But there were people there with the flu so he had to wear a mask.

Have YOU ever tried to make a two year old wear a mask?

All this does is give hospitals a little more leeway in how they handle the flu cases.

Canada is already far gone, they have commie socialist health care (BILLIONS die every day), they allow gays to get married and they even let sick people smoke MARIJUANA.

I think anyone who sees what Canada is today understands just how horrible a place Obama could turn America into.

It has already killed more children than seasonal flu and we are only just getting into the flu season. This is national emergency for a few reasons, it is killing people, putting others in the hospital (like my dad, who will be out of work for at least 2 months due to pneumonia) and it spreads very quickly.

Even a few more points up the mortality scale and you are talking about 1000s of more people dieing, if it mutates dramatically or swaps genetics with something like H5N1 then you could be looking at killing 30% of those it infects.

THIS is why people are concerned. You are a smart guy, look at the data and educate yourself.

Even N95 masks are only about 50% effective at stopping flu.

Overspending during a pandemic is simply impossible in my book. The very last thing I want is my government being under prepared when 1918 rolls back around. There is no reason for conspiracy theories since the scientific community is sounding the majority of the alarm bells. The data shows us in no uncertain terms that this is nothing but natural and is fairly cyclical.

Overspending on everything doesn't help the pandemic. If you are saying overspending on items to combat the pandemic then I agree. But I don't beleive the world was ready for the pandemic, and the USA definately wasn't.
The solution to the pandemic, wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, stay home if you have a temp(don't even go to the DR), seal the doors and windows with Duct tape...oh wait, wrong emergency. &If you have the chance get the vaccine. If not wear a mask?

Declaring a national emergency is not over reaction, not when there's been over 1000 deaths. Again, all this has done is given hospitals a bit more leeway in treating these cases and made it easier for people to get the help they need. When ERs are turning people away because of the fear of H1N1, there's a problem that needs to be fixed.

Kindly point me to the bigger risks.

That sounds pretty creepy till you actually look at the data. Ayres was a radical in his youth and since then has lived a fairly mundane life. The H1N1 data speaks for itself as well, this is a natural event that could be very dangerous.

Gangs, the illegal drugs sooo prevalent here with the drive-by shootings that victimize and/or kill children, the public schools here that are nothing more than breeding grounds for gang-recruitment of our children, the horror of parents here who are worse than their children and join in groups of juv's assaulting other juv's....our dollar power that is at about worth "nill" now...
