None Of The Above

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" - John 14:6.

Al Shugart is spending a million or more to encourage people in California to vote for nobody. Shugart is the author of Proposition 23 which is a measure on the March 7 ballot in California. Proposition 23 would allow Californians to have the option of voting "None of the Above." Shugart tried to have his dog "Earnest" placed on the ballot in the 17th Congressional district but that effort failed. Now his "None of the Above" campaign is named "Friends of Earnest."

It is easy to see how we as frustrated voters would sometimes like to vote "None of the Above." Many voters have simply dropped out of the process. This frustration seems to be carried over to the spiritual side of our lives. Many have opted out of organized religion. They clump all religions from Christianity to Buddhism together and vote "None of the Above." The covering up of our eyes and ignoring the spiritual realities is actually still a decision. Voting "None of the Above" spiritually is a rejection of Jesus Christ. Jesus makes it very clear that there are not many options in the spiritual realm. There is only one option and He, Jesus Christ, is it.

Jesus says in John 3:18, "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
