News and a question, Have you ever been on jury duty?

I was called once but I never even saw the letter. My mother opened it and called whatever court clerk was listed and they excused me. Oh yeah, I was living in Japan and they wouldn't pay for my transportation fees.

I got the callup... ironically enough when I was in prison... which gave me an out... and now I'm ineligible... so woohoo!

I guess they don't want people who actually know what it is like in prison/to get screwed over by the justice system serving on juries.

I want to, but I haven't. Very few here have been. My wife has been summoned, but at the time she had just moved to Norway, from Texas, so...

I was called to serve twice, selected once. Didn't find out about being called until after returning from vacation
a week after the date.

Maybe they should send the notice to appear by registered letter. A sheriff shoving a notice in the window, with a one hour show time, would turn me against serving.

How do you expect people to want to listen impartially,
if you forced them to come in with no reguard to your
problems.

This would be a good way to get me to side with criminals. I had one hour notice, He's not guilty.
