The federal government should be able to read all communications on the Internet, National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell said during a New Yorker interview.....

I swear. The government seems intent on figuring out just how much I'll take before moving to Switzerland.

Very nice country, mostly farmland. I spent the New Year's weekend there, at a buddy's Aunt's house. Zurich is nice, but very expensive.

Wow. All we need is a Chinese like government that watches every move we make and censors certain things. :sigh: The United States is really getting ridiculous and I am not afraid to say that out loud either.

How much more power do they want? Under the elusive cloak of homeland security, the US and the West in general, is becoming a ruthless surveillance society, where every movement is tagged, tracked, recorded and scrutinized under Big Brother's ever-watchful eye. Big government is not a good idea.

We the people are screwed in the United States. There isn't a major party in power, that actually believes in minimizing government presence in our lives. Dems and Repubs want to increase the government's size and power.

Ain't that the truth.

He wants the ability to review all, but goverment doesn't have the resources to monitor it all.
The NIA wants to do all it can, but goverment must keep it reined in.
We, the people, must keep our goverment uner control.
If we ignore them, they will get in our face more.

What makes you think they aren't already doing this?

And BTW, Costa Rica is a very nice country as well, plus it's a lot warmer than Switzerland. Real estate prices are pretty good, too.

They have some secret quantum processors to analyze all the stuff on the net ? Technically impossible.
It is impossible from a sheer computational standpoint, not even considering the gross inadequacies of automated analysis.

Bad idea.

But call it "Socialized Internet Care" and I know more than a few people who would swallow it.
Ummm give me a break. There is a huge difference between socialised health care and your so called "socialised Internet care". And most of us who are for socialised health care are not stupid enough to realize just how very stupid this plan is.
