apparently no one mentioned that the probe was sent out before the scientist decided to change their views of classifying pluto from a regular planet into a smaller dwarf planet or a planetoid. They sent the probe, two years later, they got together and began discussing the size of pluto in comparison to another dwarf planet in the asteroid belt and decided to relabel pluto into a dwarf instead of a regular planet.
Tyical incompetent scientists. Reclassifying things before the probe even gets there.

There are icy mountains akin to the Rockies on Pluto. How many millions of dollars was spent for that bit of info?

*yawn*, what a boring response

If you're going to pick on something, pick on the US's bloated military. Research is by comparision very good value for money (NH clocked in at well less than $1bn) and the applicability is usually greater too. Look at all the spinoff tech from the moon landings, for example.

You're bored? Join NASA, see the universe. I do rail against the military budget. It's a waste, just like this mission is also. You want research? Let's explore closer to home. There are vast areas of our oceans that are available.

How can one set a foot on the moon when it requires a "Space Suit" wouldn't you die if you foot was to touch the moon due to their being no air?
*Snort* space "suits". They don't even have a tie!
