My Yoke

The yoke of Christ is easy when you are following His lead. But when you try to go your own way the yoke becomes hard and burdensome. It is then it strains, chafes or even injures your neck . The yoke is very uncomfortable if you fight His lead. Fighting His lead also results in weariness.

Accept the yoke of Christ, yeild to His lead, keep in step and see,
His yoke is easy and the burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Galatians 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Thank you for that...much needed encouragement...how often we try to take the lead and do things our way instead of God's...and we wonder why the load seems heavy...again...thanks!
