I couldn't find the thread, but it is my view of the stages of life. If anyone agrees or disagree, let me know.

I don't consider a 7 year old a "tween". I would add a plain ol "kid" stage that's from 6 to 10 years of age. I'd say "tween" is 11-13, the pre-adolescent stage.

I also don't think I'd split "mid-life" into so many sections. Those years are so fluid and varied. I'd just make 30-55 the "mid-life" area. I don't consider a 34 year old a young adult anymore.

The rest sound pretty accurate to me.

True, there are some kids who are trying to be "mini adults" at that age, and others who are still acting like toddlers in a lot of ways lol. I remember wanting to hang around the older kids and feel important when I was 7. But then my son was just a big ol' baby when he was 7, he wasn't interested in growing up at all!

Here's how I view our life stages, as a combination of physical realities and cultural norms. Overlap is intentional, and how we perceive individuals may vary somewhat due to health and other factors. For instance, I've met "old" 25 year olds and "young" 50 year olds. Nevertheless, here goes:

Baby - birth to 2
Toddler - 2 to 4
Basic child - 4 to 10
Tween - 10 to 14
Teen - 14 to 19
Young adult - 18 to 39
Middle adult - 40 to 59
Older adult - 60 to 79
Elderly - 80 and beyond

This can be further simplified into 3 primary stages:

Childhood - Roughly the first 20 years, when we generally depend on our parents or other adults.
Basic adulthood - Roughly 60 years of autonomy, during which others are more apt to depend on us.
Elderly - When autonomy starts to decline, and we are more likely to depend on our adult children or others.
