Here's a little reminder of how old we are...

Just got this one in the email. Pretty funny perspective on today's youth seen through our eyes. ;)

    -------------------------------------

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with
their tedious diatribes about how hard things were
when they were growing up; what with walking
twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill
BOTH ways .. yadda, yadda, yadda

    And I remember promising myself
that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going
to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how
hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

    But now that...

I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and
notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy!
I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet.
If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the
damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email! ! We had to actually write somebody
a letter .. with a pen! The n you had to walk all the
way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it
would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to
hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the
DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone
and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang,
you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom,
your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just
didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games
with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600!
With games like ' Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'
and the graphics were horrible! Your guy was a little square!
You actually had to use your imagination! And there were
no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever!
And you could never win. The game just kept getting
harder and harder and faster and faster until you died!

When you went to the movie theater there was no such thing
as stadium seating! All the seats were the same
height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat
sat in fron t of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was
only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu
and no remote control! You had to use a little book
called a TV Guide to find out what was on!

You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You
had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to
change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network
either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday
Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to
wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat
something up, we had to use the stove or go build a
fire .. imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use
that stupid JiffyPop thing and shake it over the stove
    forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids
today have got it too easy. You're spoiled.

You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!

    Regards,
    The over 30 Crowd

ok, Lord, so here i am again.
ive learned alot lately about my own sin...and how difficult it is to want to let it go in the first place, and then to ask for your help..but also to desire to be helped.
I find it difficult to abide sometimes, because I think i am fairly impatient as well...i hadnt realised how impatient i actually am until you got me to practice abiding:D
Lord I am sorta hurt by last night...not as much as i think i 'should' be...but i am willing to continue but i still need help to keep going..
Your verse that "in the last days the love of many will go cold" scares me Lord, because I know how easy it is to have a coldness towards the one on earth that i am called to love the most....This is the area that i need help at the moment Lord, but asking for help is also like asking to be put through my paces cos i know to be strengthened you will give me trials to practice on.
I just want a good marriage Lord, can I please ask for one thing? That while i'm learning and practicing and trying to do my bit, that my husband is doing the same?
At least if we knew we were both trying it would increase the hope factor, and I sure do need hope Lord.

    Love you:hug:

Lord Jesus, this is just a note of thanks...Thankyou for bringing us through to the place we are at now...And thankyou for the patience and the peace that i've been able to experience...Thankyou for the fun and the laughter that we have been having more often lately...
But most of all thankyou Jesus for YOUR faithfulness, love and commitment to us who are undeserving.

Thankyou Lord for mine and hubbys brand new house, brought to me by grace through your perfect will Father in heaven. Thankyou for my husbands sobriety and for his wonderful perfect job with perfect pay that he serves perfectly through the day. Thankyou for the wisdom and knowledge I have as I write and submit my assignments, and thankyou for the ease with which my husband, myself and our kids get through the day.
Thankyou for your provision with the wealth that you gracefully bestow upon us through perfect channels, and thankyou for all that is of you that is our lives, and thankyou that whatever is not of you is dissolved immediately within your love.
Thankyou for the love and prosperity...the blessed life we live in Jesus name.
    Amen

Thankyou Father, because of the sacrifice of your son Jesus, I come before your throne. I thankyou that by your grace, this burden is lifted, that now the truth and solution is coming to pass. I thankyou that you love my husband, with a perfect love, and because of your love and grace He is righteous and perfect in your sight.
Thankyou that I am sinless because of the gift of your beautiful son Jesus, and thankyou that I live in power not might, by the blessing of your Holy Spirit.

I come to you in Jesus name.
    Amen

    Dear Jesus,
thankyou for the gift of fun and friends today...thankyou for the word that you spoke to me and I know that you speak that same word to me repeatedly so thankyou for being patient...PLEASE help me to live the word that you spoke! I really do want to live for you, so that you can live through me...I am fed up of living through the flesh in many of my responses I am bored with them and I really do want to let them go...And Pastor P prayed and anointed me with oil today so I do claim for answered prayer.
Also for my family...You kwim aye Lord.
    thanks.
