Martial arts HAS NO PLACE in a Spirit filled Life , its philosophies are not of God and it is but another distraction which draws people away from the will of God .

this is an exerpt from it .. i use it because i can post a percentage of it and because it saves me typing as he presents the points i would make any way .

Some of it enticements are:

Self-defense - we are not counting on the Lord for safety, we are now counting on our own ability to protect and defend ourselves.
A way of overcoming fear because violence is increasing everywhere in the world, even many born again believers are looking for ways to overcome their fears. But the Word of God says God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Tim. 1:7).
A way of building self-confidence rather than allowing the Lord to become our confidence.
Physical fitness although it does help a person become fit, there are many other ways of becoming fit other than opening a door for the enemy to have access to ones life. One of the drawbacks is, that over time, it can cause great damage to ones body in the wear and tear of the repetitive unnatural body movements.
Sports, or competition, especially parents wanting to live vicariously through their children. We see it involving younger and younger children. There are plenty of other sports our children can be involved in that don't have an occult background, and that don't teach its participants to maim or kill.
To gain power our only source of power should be Jesus Christ and our churches should be full of His power.
To imitate movie heroes, such as Chuck Norris, David Carradine of Kung Fu fame, Bruce Lee, and others. Are we to imitate movie heroes, or are we to imitate Christ?

Martial arts is a very old occult practice that has recently been cleverly disguised and re-packaged, and has gone through a metamorphosis, to make it more palatable to Western society. The occult is rooted and prevalent in all forms of martial arts, whether Japanese, Chinese, or Korean. If you study the history, you will find it goes back thousands of years. The original religious philosophy of kung fu in China, for example, dates back as far as 2696 BC where it was rooted in occultist forms of divination and was intertwined with the false religion of Taoism. In Japan, it was intertwined with Zen Buddhism. In essence, martial arts spread from China to Japan to Korea and then elsewhere, where it was given different names and developed into various styles. But the spiritual DNA of all of them comes from an evil root. If something has an evil root, how can it bear righteous fruit?

A spirit filled life is a life where we are to walk under the lordship of the lord Jesus ,walking in reverent loving obedience to the holy Spirit

To very term of being a disciple is to be disciplined in the ways of the lord .not in the ways of the world .

There is no part of life which is neutral ground in the spiritual realm .. it is always for the lord Jesus or against the lord Jesus .
when we begin to defend our own choice of actions ..we must pause and present that argument not before mere men ..but before god in prayer .. do we not love him first and foremost about all else ? as this is the greatest directive we are given in a Godly life .
For the lord does not look o the outer but on the heart of a person ..he knows the motive and the intent of the heart ..he also know what influence the heart ..the lust of the eye the lust of the flesh and the pride of life .

in all of scripture -inspired by the holy Spirit . (the Spirit of God which spirit filled charismatic folks claim to have received) it is never written where we are to take up such practices .
there is simply no directive given to do so. because it simply is of another spirit ..it is not of the Spirit of God it never was and it never will be .

consider this simple thing ..you will find it interesting ..

take you hand and for a moment hold your loved ones face ..in the palm of your hand ..as if to show the tenderness .
now stand in front of them and have them walk toward you and receive them into a tender embrace

now put out your hand for them to place their hand in it -as if to help them down a slippery path ..

in all these actions observe how your hands and arms need exert no force to contort for this purpose .. everything about your created body had been designed with love tenderness and help as its default setting ..

now observe that to push them away from you you must force your wrist to form a palm to shove with ..you must exert force to form a fist to strike with ..every action and move associated with violence of any kind, justified or not ,..is opposed to the created design of your body and force must be exerted to execute such activity ...
God is love and he created us in his own image ..he created us to be tender to love to aid one another .

people use self defense as an excuse when really it is pride and self sufficiency they strive for ..to have mastery over others .everything opposite to the fruits of the Holy Spirit .

they say ..but but but what if an intrude what if an attacker ..
yet on Sunday they may say amen when its quotes that their life is hid in Christ

they say Amen when its quoted that with God nothing is impossible .. and claim to follow the Lord with whom nothing is impossible ..

yet train to violently defend themselves ?? why? is it just in case that god in whom we claim to trust may not be able to look after us in our time of need ?because when its written that with god all things are possible perhaps that's one thing that's not possible for God ? -God forbid i ever think it .

but but bad things happen to good people all the time .. absolutely correct . and why should that bother us when we know he is able to raise us up to life again.. or do we no longer believe that either ?
our trust our hope our faith cannot be founded on the sands of this work but in the lord Jesus alone .

That's quite an assumption.

What if I said...

Employment - we're not counting on the Lord for provision, we're now counting on our own ability to provide for ourselves.

Or could it just be said that Lord also provides for us through the giving of employment, and the Lord also provides safety for us through our training?

i feel its fair to remind that the topic is as much about walking a Holy Spirit filled life as it is about martial arts NOT being a part of it .

it is easy for a fit person between 16 and 40 to say "its for self defense .. but a person younger or much much older .... ??are you saying that through the ages of 16 to 40-50 we are to trust our own abilities but all other ages must trust God ?
your not talking to someone who does not know it .. i used to do it and i know first ..for instance most woman that took it were in need of massive reality checks to break from them the delusion of safety it gives them .

the closest i ever saw to such a reality check was when they brought a suited man (full safety padding ) in and had him grab girls from behind wioth intent to pin them on the ground (mat) ..they were to not allow him to do so and resist and escape .. no holds barred .
(and he did not have the element of surprise -- all , bat none irrespective of belt color or training .. none succeeded ..
- he picked them up from behind and threw them like rag dolls ..with all their training every one of them was stunned and helpless ..
-the point -> as a spirit filled believer you have more power in Jesus then you will ever obtain by trusting in the arm of the flesh .

changing the analogy to one of provision does not work .. as in contrast we are given directive to work.. if a man does not work he shall not eat .. thus we see that God has designed us to do good for others ..as that is the kind of works he means .he has also stated that if we do good works the worker is worthy of his wages which are to be used not to horde wealth unto self .. but to provide needs. ..thus if we work for the kingdom of God we are not to worry for the father who clothes the birds of the air ..(for ho he did not lay down his life ) is far more able and willing to clothe us ( whom he loved so much he went to the cross for us )and feed us .

but there is no directive to become involved in the arts of violence and bowing to one other then God .- it simply has no place in a Spirit Filled life no place in the Body of Christ.

what so ever things are of good report..if there be virtue .praise..think on these things.


Think ..is to take on board and entertain thoughts that are all of the above in content and attribute.
we ate alsi to take captive thoughts and imaginations which attempt to exalt themselves .
often times when a believer in jesus trains in martial arts they develope thought patterns opposed to the love of God.
sadly few will be honest about that untill they have gotten free.
an imagination enters the soulish realm of thier mind..of a person attacking them,then they imagine the manner in which they overcome thier attacker..blocking thier action striking them down or manipulating the attackers body into submission..-they go on to imagine how impressed others will be..oh but they will be so humble about it..after the fact..oh how self exalting all these thoughts are..
there is no way of the cross in such imagination,no laying down of self,no praise of the Lord..no glory in that imagination to any one but self..

Perhaps that person is robbing you... so this is your justification?
If a man asks for your coat..twist his wrist and throw him to the ground?????????..
You showed him...!
No.. give him your cloke also.. for what are matarial things to us which perish..what is body or life in this world..it is like the flower that blooms withers and is gone.
what is it we seek to defend..all we need defend is our attackefs need to hear the gospel..for it is not when we were rightous that Christ died for us..but when we were that robber..when we lived robbibg God of glory due to his name..that Christ died for us.

oh that people would care enough to not so easily accept anything they are told
oh that people would read the scriptures to know truth and desire it above all else
for wisdom cries out in the streets but is still only found by those who answer its call..
the enemy of our soul lays snares for us and if we listen to the Holy Spirit he will deliver us out of the snare of the Fowler ... but if we go stubbornly on our own way . we will surely fall in

look-deeper ,know more understand there is no mingling of pure water with worldly water and expecting the pure to remain so ..it becomes tainted ..it only remains pure when it is not mixed .

What are the seven virtues of bushido.

The kanji of the seven virtues and their spirit(SIMPLIFIED-not indepth)
GI -to do the right thing ..for the Holy Spirit filled believer the right thing is what ever the Holy Spirit is telling us to do .

YUUKI – Courage

Yuuki Courage Bushido Code Symbols Japanese Calligraphy Yuuki has two kanji. The first is yuu, which means courageous, with the important component of chikara, the symbol for strength.
{(Chikara), the Japanese word meaning power, capability, or influence}

The second kanji is ki or energy.

Yuuki means brave, courageous energy.
as Holy Spirit filled believers we source all our strength in God who is our strength -never in self or any other source but God ..for in HIM(Jesus)we love and move and have our being .

JIN – Benevolence

Jin Benevolence - on the left side stands the character for human, and on the right there are two horizontal strokes which represent the number two. Jin is one of the most fundamental virtues of Confucianism, which could be defined as to treat each other with tenderness, to love each
-in confucianism the number 2 the second ..is NOT the lord Jesus ..and as such ,is not truth .

REI – Politeness or Morality

Rei Politeness Morality Bushido The kanji for rei is a modern abbreviated form, which does not reveal very much of the ancient character. The ancient symbol shows a sacrificing vessel that evokes the rites and ceremonies conducted for worshipping and offerings-hardly needs explaining how wrong it is to bow to it

MAKOTO – Truthfulness

Makoto- Truthfulness The kanji for makoto is composed of two parts: at the left stands the character for to speak, a mouth that produces words. At the right stands the character sei, which means to accomplish, to succeed.
Makoto -means truth in word and action, to follow truly the Law of the Universe.

this also hardly needs explaining that it is wrong for the Holy Spirit filled believer to demote God to the level of his creation .

6. MEIYO – Honor
, Meiyo has two kanji. The first is mei, which means reputation, with the symbol of mouth below. The second kanji is yo, which means to praise or to admire.
again.. our praise is reserved for the one who is WORTHY of ALL praise HONOR GLORY POWER RICHES WISDOM AND STRENGTH.. the lamb of God !

CHUUGI – Loyalty

Loyalty Chuugi 7 Bushido Kanji Japanese Calligraphy Chuugi has two characters. The first one is chuu which means to be sincere or loyal. This character expresses very well the true meaning of loyalty. We see a heart and on top of it the symbol for middle. Chuu could be understood as no conflict in the heart, faithful to what is felt in the heart.

The second kanji is gi, which means right action or duty.

the lord Jesus said we cannot serve two master ..we cannot remain loyal to the discipline of a martial art and its philosophy AND be a disciple(disciplined one ) of Christs .

martial arts and its philosophies have no place in the life of a Holy Spirit filled believer .

we must decide to whom we wil be loyal .there is no vacuum where things are not spiritually influenced .. any one who has been filled the the Holy Spirit knows this to be so .

we are instructed not to give place to the devil ..he is a deceiver and we are to be circumspect diligent ..
for he does go about like a roaring lion seeking lives top devour lives that live not out on the fringe ..he cant touch those whose hearts are near the heart of God loving him with all they know how ..he seeks out those on the fringe to fool them trick them and lead them into all manner of snares . the lord Jesus can set us free , does set us free. but we must learn to listen to him ..
there is consequence to everything we do outside of the will of God ..for can a man hug fire to his belly and not be burned ?

next i plan to simply look at how we are to live a Spirit Filled life and contrast it the martial arts .
although to be honest it should not be such a difficult concept to grasp .i mean this point that it simply has no place in a Holy Spirit filled life .

since i raised it elsewhere lets pause to look at the practice of bowing down ..
there is no place in any culture art or life where bowing ones head to the flor is NOT an act of submission ..

and though you may buy the carnal reasoning that oh its just respect .. (would you give such respect if the devil stood in front of you .. and yet these customs your involved in are an extension of the kingdom of darkness (even when its give a christian name tag on the door -changing the signage does not change the heart of the matter )

so here is the challenge again ..

to any one -
as iv said before ..if bowing at the door and bowing when kneeling on the floor after emptying ones mind (more eastern founded meditation which has no part in a Holy Spirit filled life ) is not an act of giving worth(to worship ..to attribute as worth our time and effort ,to value ) to another other then God .. then next time your at you dojo .. don't do it . stand up straight when you walk in the door .. and when your kneeling with the class and they ,in unison , bow the head to the floor ..don't you do it .. you sit with your back as straight as an arrow unto Jesus .

. after all that will be no problem .. you are a born again Christian are you not ?.. you will not ever dream of bowing to another in any shape or form what so ever ..nor will you ever compromise your faith . you read the story of Daniel, how he refused to bow the knee to ANYONE but the one true living God .. you sang the songs on Sunday .."i will give you all my worship (worth).." you told yourself your not like those folks that compromise ,you've always pictured yourself as one who will never bow to anything or anyone other then the lord Jesus ..he is your LORD ..

now is your chance to prove it - after all ,get riled up, you have been duped, here you are doing that one thing you always said as a disciple of Jesus you would never do .. and yet there you are ,duped into believing the carnal reasoning and buying the excuses .. and there you ,are presenting your body as an instrument of discipline unto an eastern pagan practice religion and philosophy .. and you kneel on your knees and bow your head to the floor in full submission to another that is not the Lord Jesus ..

so prove that is not you .. do not bow ..

If you think i challenge you to a difficult thing .. i don't .

I did this very thing ..did not bow ,sat with my back straight up- it did not go well ..i quit soon after and renounced the practice in order to give the lord Jesus more worth(worship) in my life .
maybe it will go better for you .. maybe it will be your opportunity to testify to the entire class of the truth of the lord Jesus and they will all repent and stop bowing .wouldn't that be wonderful -after all you tell yourself your there as an -outreach- ?
it is sad that in truth it is the devil reaching out to draw people away from god .. far more then the deception we tel ourselves .. - ask any one who attends ..do any say "ouhh i come to this class to learn more about Christianity and Jesus " .. no one ever said it did they . not surprising ,its not what they have come there for is why .

trust in God

this is a key issue in the life of A Holy Spirit filled believer .
everything in the flesh has a magnetism like pull ,tugging at us constantly to itself in the illusion that we will be safer in this world ..drawing us to place our faith in our own abilities .. and then too many time we only call upon the lord when things are beyond our own strength ...
But how wonderful it is to learn to trust God in ALL things and not some things only ..for then we need not call upon him in desperation, but be ever in a perpetual state of communication with him -
the lord Jesus tells us to abide in him ... living with our hearts thoughts minds imaginations inside his ..that he might dwell by His Holy Spirit in Us . We become vessels which carry the Holy Spirit of the living God in absolute trust of all his omnipotent ability .
it is a contradiction of such trust to then fall back on our own abilities ..
no one arrives at a place of 100% trust instantly ..we all grow into it .. but if we refuse to exercise such trust in him to the measure we already do and a little more each time.then we hinder any growth .
what we have already attained let us mind the same thing ..- never draw back from the point we have attained to in our walk with the lord and be ever seeking to go on and upward into more of what the Lord Jesus has promised us .

we cannot learn to trust in the lord and hold onto trust in our own ability at the same time
and when we seek to strengthen our own ability we only move ourselves further from trusting in HIM who can do ALL things and with whom NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE .

and not only do we distance ourselves from trust we then take the holy Spirit ..who dwells within us (if we be filled of the Holy Spirit )and we submit him ,in us ,by the bowing down of our body to another ..which is a form of spiritual adultery .
it is no wonder so many unwittingly open the door for the demonic into their own life and the lives of their families .

if we truly desire to protect our family then we need to put our trust in the lord who is able to do exceedingly more then we ask of him .
as long as we put any trust in the flesh we have failed our family already ..for what good is it if we save their body and they lose their soul because we pass onto them an unspoken message that god cannot be trusted .

the lord Jesus said .. don't fear them that can only harm the body.. but fear god who casts body and soul into the lake of fire .

love for the lord above all else is an ever increasing state of being when living in the Holy Spirit .
being ever both aware of the lord and in a practiced state of acknowledging him in all thing at all times ..

we are to be ever filled .we receive the Spirit of the lord when we are baptized in the Spirit of the Lord and then we are to be ever filled .
we cannot expect to remain "full of the holy ghost" when we get busy filling ourselves with other things .
love does not treat the object of its focus with such cheap disdain if it is to be called Godly love .
love holds it stands fast it does not seek its own will but to pleas always the one it loves .it does not say" Aaahh but I WILL "
Love for the lord simply wants the things of God more then it wants the things of this world .love for God also develops an intrinsic trust in God .. knowing he is all sufficient in all things .
it has no desire to glory in any other but God and it always seeks that God be given the glory and never the flesh .

for the most part this point of- a desire to love God and know his glory and the manifestation of his power at work in our lives ,has been greatly missed in the flurry of opposition to the plain suggestion in the title .

The lord desires to give us all he has promised us.. but in order to take up those promises we must leave where we are at and go into the land to possess it .
we must let go of what is in our hands ..in order to grasp hold of what the lord is handing us .
the things of this life (being figuratively Egypt) do not lead us to life or to a deeper relationship in the lord .in every aspect of following the lord we must follow his lead ..and that entails handing him the reigns .relinquishing control over our live .
we cannot lose anything by doing so ..we can only gain on God .

that which is beneficial to us is always that which God desires be established in our lives .
to walk in the Holy Spirit is to walk in a manner which honors his presence in us in all we do .
to revere his presence in us in all we do .
we know from the word of God that our body is a temple , a habitation .we must at all times take into consideration who it is which saved us to be ones holy. ones Called out from this world . For we have not been saved to remain as we were ,but that we might ,from the position of being saved ,grow in the grace of God and move on and into all that he has promised us .for he did not promise it except he intended to give that which he promised .but ,again, to take up that which the lord has promised us we must put down that which is not of him .

And they said "lord lord we did .... "lots of things "in your name " ...

it is an interesting verse . the lord rejects the people that say they did things in his name .
you see to do something in ones name ,one must be doing that which is the will of the one they claim to be doing it for , not their own will with his name tagged onto it .

The crux of it is that the practice of eastern martial arts is entwined in the Spirit of this world from whence it originates .its roots are based solidly in Godless teachings and their philosophy remains in the practice at every level because its very existence is based on them

To walk in the Holy Spirit is to walk in an ever increasing attitude of love and humility, ever seeking to further love He who first loved us .
I love the response of the other disciples when the lord says that "one ' will betray him.". they do not fly off in defensive arguments -they ask .."lord -is it I "
This is such a wonderful example of correct heart response .
