Yes, I understand what you are speaking of the location of where this mark is and the nature of it but is this really decodong it as your title of this thread implies? No

My posts are addressing the analytic method or at least, my method of 'decoding' what this beast is, and I haven't used numbers but rather my imagination, as Albert specified. Lol

I offered my recipe in brief, my idea of how to decode the scriptures in order to identify the 'beast'. Is this not on topic or did you just attempt to derail your own thread?

Deceptions are not as they appear, they are not obvious, never, even while under our nose, albeit it's something that we have openly accepted and will not part with, read Revelation 13:4 and read it as it's worded, and first you must set aside your preconceived ideas and use your imagination and think deep on it.

The mark of the 'beast' is the number of a man; this alone tells us that the beast is human (man), and of course, we have a mind where our conscience decision is recorded in our book-mind.

Deceptions have deceptions to hide the real duck so sometimes we must consider this, as well. We might have to look for double deceptions, or even more.

PS, the holy is profaned, and the profane is made holy, and knowing this, Satan makes us and our works appear innocent to us even when comparing to God's law, everything appears good as good fruit to gain knowledge (Eve and the Tree). This must also involve and concern our knowledge, and how would we compare secular education to Biblical education ministered by the Holy Spirit? I don't believe that OC blankets the globe, so that can't be it. I can't see how it would be so glorious as to mimic God's glory, so I doubt that OC is anything but OC, that replaces an attribute of God's divine healing powers.
It must be something that people accept unknowingly and live with it and become soulfully dependent on it so that they will not surrender it.

The mark of the beast pertained to Emperor Nero, and those under him did not bear a literal mark.

Getting a mark on one's arm is farfetched, yet plausible under certain conditions. But with apocalyptic, antichrist affairs?
I don't think so, also when such a mark on the forehead is basically implausible, and runs alongside the idea of a mark on the arm.

I think this interpretation of the 'mark' is due, utterly, to fanaticism and naive interpretation within unguided denominations.
As such, you see most all of this going on in protestant sects, you don't see hardly any with the big churches.

If I had to give advice, I'd say to come back to Earth and be realistic for a second.
