Um...Isn't it possible for the Bishop to give a dispensation for regular communicants of other denominations to receive communion as a one off on a special occasion? Eg. at a wedding, the nonCatholic Bride or Groom can receive if a dispensation is obtained? Is it possible for this to have happened here?

I'm not saying I know one way or the other...just wondering what you guys think.

When I got married, the priest tried to talk me out of receiving Communion at my wedding because my 'husband to be' and his family were Protestant, and he didnt want to offer it since they couldn't receive.

Nope, I wanted it, and I got it.
His family didnt go to receive.

Well, I'd imagine that they were thinking of not saying Mass at all at the wedding, not that Angel should decline to receive.
