Lost my Poem

I lost my poem in the fairest of weather

didn't miss it ...no love lost

until I realized an empty hand on an unstrung heart

attempting to scribe what wasn't to be

Very sad, we don't know what we have until we lose it.

The Door
I cried at the lock,
I beat on the hard wood,
I wept and I pleaded,
I tried magic passwords.

But the door was locked,
Barred and nailed shut,
No one heard,

And I lost the key.
