Keep Me At Jesus' Feet
Karen Holland 12-20-06
.
O LORD, what gift do I have to bring?
To lay before my King?
I have no gifts of gold, incense or myrrh to bring
No gifts fit for my King.
.
I have no alabaster jar with fragrance sweet
No perfume with which to kiss and anoint at Jesus's feet.
.
O LORD, what gift do I have to bring?
To lay before my King?
.
What gift does He desire?
What gift does He esteem?
A living sacrifice pure and holy
My humble heart contrite and lowly
This honors Christ my King
This He esteems above everything.
.
O LORD if I should ever gain a crown
Keep me humble before Your nail-pierced feet
At the foot of Your cross let me gladly lay down my crown
Before Your nail-pierced feet
I'll lay it all down.

Romans 12:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

.
Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

.
Isaiah 66:2

"Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?"
declares the LORD.
"This is the one I esteem:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit,
and trembles at my word."

.
Revelation 4:10-11

The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."
