BAD NEWS:
A family friend called us last night and told us that US Coast Guard found nearly 400 bodies of Vietnamese in La Fitte shore, those lived in Grand Isle, La Fitte, and southern coast line of Louisiana. We know they are all fishermen or shrimper. However, majority of them are crab meat/shrimp/oysters peelers and very poor. They couldn´t leave town b/c they don´t have good transportation so they decided to stay and hope the hurricane will pass to another path just like many time before. However, when the hurricane reached near land, they started panicking so they want to leave but it was too late. One guy from the whole village jumped in the car and ran. It took him 36 hours to get to Baton Rouge. The rest of village couldn´t make it. I don´t know why they haven´t reported this new. And as you watch the news, they said Grand Isle is completely disappeared in the map.

The number 10,000 is an upper estimate provided in a report conducted a few years ago by a disaster management agency in LA (or maybe FEMA). The number is also use in this nova special produced well before the hurricane:

Edit: I just rewatched some of the video and it looks like pre-storm upper estimates by federal authorities were as high as 50K.

ACTUALLY, that is PROVEN FALSE by the FACT that Fox News reported Bush the winner in Florida...guess the media gave orders to both the American people and the Government.

Everyone reported Bush the winner when the polls were actually counted. Exit polls were proven to be a false indicator, as they were in 2004.

And my statement was that the media hasn't given orders to the government since 2000. Florida happened in 2000. So even if you are right (which you aren't), you're still wrong.

Really? I seem to remember the Supreme Court ruling that a re-count was not necessary.

25000 body bags going to waste? Looks like we just got fooled by the media once again. Leftist media projecting dire casualties to cause problems in our government and society using the blame game and race cards galore. Now when we go looking for bodies the truth comes out; blown out of proportion.

What a waste! Last night national guard were finding bodies that had been chewed up by dogs! And the stench leads them to attics. Thank God if some of the body bags FEMA ordered are not used. I'll take the "leftist" media - they aren't really, you know - to FEMA's information system any day.

National Guards make FEMA look like boy scouts. And they just try to get rid of people in their homes and throw them out. So that they won't have to bother with them the next day. Sad but true.
